Thanks guys - made an appointment with an osteopath on Monday so will hopefully get a diagnosis and also ask what exercises I can do. Docs are a bit rubbish here - just give you anti infammitory medication and tell you to rest. I will need to work on my diet - for whatever reason i am much stricter on my diet when I am…

Does that mean I will have fluid retention if I weight train every week? I am doing a 18 week programme that runs in 4 week cycles - volume, hypertrophy, strength and taper.
-
Although I only weigh once a week I do agree with what you are saying.
-
I really do hope it is fluid retention. Trying really hard to keep going
-
It's just TOM fatigue. I have a pretty rotten time of if but I can't give myself extra rest days every month....

Thanks again to all for your time and encouragement. i am feeling empowered! (also feel like i really need to pee - been downing the water!)
-
Thanks and good luck to you too! How long did it take you to lose that weight with crossfit? did you have an initial gain or was it a steady decrease?

Don't be sad!

Thanks for input - the weekend was a bad one as was in and out of hospital and eating what i could. Made a guestimate of calories on sat which I know is a super bad idea and sunday was just bad so was my first day of not logging. Would like to say i have been pretty accurate other than that but you are right about…

Thanks - this is really encouraging

I have opened it. please be gentle.

That is a good point - Get up early for gym but try to sleep early too but doesnt always happen. Also going through a pretty stressful time right now with family related stuff - not much I can do to control that but for the first time in my life I have not turned to food for comfort.

It's open. I have been completely honest so it could look quite ugly. Fear.

I I have been doing crossfit for 6 months but was a very slow start due to rehabilitating an old lower back injury (no lifting just lots of stretching and mobility). I would say I have only started doing full on crossfit like normal people since the new year which is also when I started to log.

Nearly cried upon reading that I should stop lifting weights - so glad everyone agreed! I actually do crossfit which is about 10 mins core work, 20 mins lifting and 15-20 mins HIIT in the form of circuit training. I wish I had the time to add a run in too but an hour a day (actually 1.5 hours with travel time) is as much…

Yes

I do crossfit and thats how I started lifting. I think I definetely would have injured myself if I just tried myself at the gym. If there is a crossfit gym near you and you can afford it I would join. Everything is scaled which is great for people new to lifting.

I am usually above my fat target....in every sense ;)

So glad you asked this queestion! I am on week 3 of MFP and been pretty constipated too. I had to take (natural) laxitive tablets one day but don't want this to be a habbit. I have tried adding in more greens to my diet as I have been pretty guilty of not eating enough fruit/veg. I am also monitoring my fibre intake now. I…

Wow - that is good to see. Thanks for sharing!

It is very difficult to log weight training though. I have heard the HRM don't do a very good job for crossfit. I also don't want to eat back all my burnt calories, maybe half but if they are all sitting there I won't have the restrain to not eat them. On top of that I don't think a crossfit class actually burns that much…

It is harder for me - I live in Scotland and it is absolutely freezing here. Cold weather = body craving hot stodgy food. I am extra freezing and miserable on a calorie deficit. I think this is why people in Scotland have an obesity problem. I love a salad in summer but during winter I want bad food like pizza and chips. I…

Sorry what I meant to say is that I don't log my workouts so I don't eat back those calories.
-
Sorry I should have said I am 178 lbs with 30lbs to lose. I have been up at 200 before so know how it is!
-
I'm 5ft9, having set my goal to 1.5lbs a week I get a calorie limit of 1480 per day. This is really not enough for me so I have been logging my exercise and eating those calories (and sometimes more) which is something I really didn't want to do. Today will complete my first full week and I will do my week 1 weigh in…

@loveliftlaughxo I possible love maths and your post > lifting
-
I might have a fair bit to lose but thankfully my bf is my crossfit coach so hoping I will get it right this time.
-
I love to lift :) I do crossfit 4 x per week, inc my next class in 2 hours! I have c. 30lbs to lose though :(
-
thanks @superfox12082, glad to see someone else feels the same and that I don't need to go to a doctor ;) I am based in the UK and it has pretty much been freezing for the whole week with a massive storm last night. I generally always feel the cold, just more so recently.

@want2bethin135 I have been drinking water but not THAT much. I generally feel the cold a lot though, just even more in the past 2 days.
