Can I ask what you do and for how long to burn that?

Sounds like totally harmless chit chat! Why assume the worst...

Why was that flagged as spam :-/ I agree would be good to have a seperate section for alcohol.

Currently 14st 8lb. Want to be 11st 5lb. So got 42lb to lose! I cannot lose motivation!

I just wondered because I find it easier to eat less/healthier than I do to motivate myself to go to the gym. I can go to the gym 2-3 times a week but I will never be one of these people who can go to the gym 5-7 times a week.

Thanks @golgoroo :-) some really good ones in there! I need the ones that are barely noticeable and there are a couple there.

No obviously I know you burn calories just by being alive... but not to the same extent I do say running for my train or walking from my bus stop or walking up and down escalators in my journey home at night.

But I suppose my thinking was if I eat at lunch I burn calories throughout the rest of the day? So maybe burn some of it off? But if I eat a large meal at night all I do is go to sleep on it?

I'm 22 and from the UK. Looking to lose 42 lb, hopefully in 6 months. I really want to see it through and not look focus so I am certainly looking for some motivation/support, and to also motivate/support someone else!

I'm from the UK :-) I think it is great it is so international. I just get a bit confused when people are posting their weights in different units. Also a shame when the US people reccomend a certain food or something and us Brits can't get it over here.

I appreciate weight doesn't drop off with food. But people have said that when they out right cut out alcohol they do see a big difference fairly quickly - as in within a month or so. I just wondered whether people had experienced that on here, purely so i am not disheartened of I don't see a big difference straight away.

Thank you for those who have provided helpful responses. Interesting that alcohol gets broken down first and so could detract from breaking down food calories - if I have understood that correctly! Can the children fighting please take it elsewhere.

@Sherbear702 great idea about the fizzy water! As I said I don't drink anything but water except when it is the alcohol or the mixers with alcohol. But plain water can be so bland!
-
Yes aside from alcohol and mixers when i have spirits all I drink is water. I'm not one for squashes, fruit juice, fizzy drinks etc. It is just wasted calories that aren't needed so certainly need to kick the habit. However I will be disheartened if I don't see a difference based on cutting it out. And no I wouldn't be…

Thanks for all the ideas :-) Supermarkets seem to do loads of "breakfast bars" but I just never know how healthy these really are? I think hot water to make porridge/oatmeal may be the way to go. And I suppose fruit on its own is always a good bet. I want to get out this habit of skipping breakfast but it is hard when I…
