  • I make big batches of things and freeze. Veggie soup doesn't take long and can make 8 portions in a go. Freezes well. Get a slow cooker and lob some stock and hen tit in it. Turn on and ignore for a few hours. Chicken for a week! Or you can make chilli, casseroles, soup etc in there and freeze for the week. Tinned soups…
  • I have an aldi near work and its fab! I often pop in after work. No complaints about any of the fresh of frozen products and they're cheaper than asda (although i find booze cheaper in asda or tesco) The super 6 offer they have every week on meat and veg is brillant (fruit and veg for 49p) and they often have offers on…
  • I buy a lot of the "at the end of shelf life" reduced stuff and freeze it. It is always worth checking out the reduced sections of a supermarket. Especially later in the day as they do silly reductions to get rid of it! I got 7 chicken drumsticks, 2 salmon fillets and 2 plaice fillets, 60p for all of it a couple of weeks…
  • Firstly...although attraction is important, looks shouldn't be. If someone likes you they should like you for YOU, not your body. Overweight, underweight, just right...shouldn't matter (unless it is really an imminent threat to health/life) Trust me. I've had some horrific exs. If they want to change your appearance the…
  • Sometimes I'll have another drink in a wine glass so the ritual is there. Or a spritzer. And I always pre prep food before opening the wine so its ready to cook. I hate waste so feel i have to cook. Helps avoid takeaways :) Maybe have a think about how you could have tasty brunches for less calories by swapping…
  • Intermittent fasting 2 days a week, not eating exercise calories, sticking to calorie goal 3 days and taking a weekly average of calories rather than worry about day to day. Gives me wiggle room for whatever at the weekend. I also like wine :)
  • I lost my mp3 player and haven't found a good free music app for my newer phone. Used to totally kill myself to Through the Fire and the Flames - Dragonforce (literally the times i thought i would actually die!) Slam and Trantula - Pendulum
  • THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA!!!!
  • I was gonna say that...
  • I like wine. Chocolate I can take or leave. I take an average over the week for my calories, basically I'm super good with a couple of fast days and exercise in the week, at the weekend I don't worry too much. Seems to work OK for me.
  • I take a weekly average. Usually do a couple of fast days in the week and not eat back exercise to level out the weekend. It works out over the 7 days.
  • And burns are over estimated. Also...do you think you can do this almost every day for the rest of your life?
  • Have you tried google?
  • You can make it into noodles with a julienne peeler or spiraliser and use in place of spaghetti/noodles I chop it up and add to stir fry, pasta sauce, risotto, stew, casserole anything really. Or cut length ways, scoop out seeds and fill with couscous or something and bake for stuffed.
  • You can't make other people see things. Its difficult to notice if you see someone every day as well. It took me til over a stone before i noticed changes in me! You're only at the start of your journey now...take a pic now, and each month, and just keep on doing what you're doing...you'll have photographic evidence of…
  • @Soopatt those people sound like the "you're not losing because you're eating FOOD!" brigade heehee! Well done on your loss so far xx @oh_happy_day i was tempted to reply that he was fat AND lazy AND ugly but I decided to have more pride. Deleted and blocked now!
  • I think a major factor may be jealousy. I have awesome friends and family, a superb partner, I'm a busy social butterfly! He is 40, lives with his dad and watches tv in bed all day. Mostly I've kept speaking to him because i feel sorry for him and I've offered advice when asked but it's excuses excuses... And there have…
  • This person is definitely not as fit as me (and I'd not consider me anything awesome). Is idle rich. Spends all day eating and lying in bed watching documentarys. Recently asked for help to lose weight then pitched a fit when i tried to explain about calories. Looks like i just lost about 15 stone... hahaha!!
  • Yep! I just don't think it is acceptable to speak to someone like that. His excuse is "its the truth" Truth is...i haven't been doing so great lately. But I didn't pile it all back on as usual (4-7lb up but still 19lb down from start) and I'm getting back to it. Truth is.... he can go f*** himself up the bottom with barbed…
  • Thanks for all the advice! I had a go round the machines this evening to familiarise myself :)
  • I use a Up Move to track steps and cardio...the calories it says I have burnt on the Up app is considerably more than the calories that sync to MFP. And less than if I put the exercise straight into MFP (with no gadgets) My Move said 350 for swimming, MFP said 300 if I just put it straight in, but through the sync that is…
  • I got the humans can not build muscle from nowhere from many many other threads :) The nerd fitness link was very interesting...my work computer feels that the other is naughty so I'll have to google that one when my phone charges. My main goal is my health, which there is nothing too wrong with but I want to keep it that…
  • I do like the option of a pool but dont actually go that often! I went swimming this morning but that's the first time since May. I also hope to move house (and counties) in the next 6 months or so and would then join a gym nearer my home so another consideration...I'd forgot bout that one. Bloody life! So probably gonna…
  • The thought crossed my mind, but price is an issue and that one also has a decent sized swimming pool. The others in the same price bracket don't have pools. The ones that do are considerably more costly and the pools are small. Its all swings and roundabouts really! There is one that is cheaper and a new one opening that…
  • Because my job is in a lab there is wandering about and paperwork. The amount of each changes depending on what needs doing so I bought me a Up Move, it links with MFP, tracks your steps, you can tell it when you are exercising (although mine does ask me if I was exercising if I forget to tell it) and it adds the calories…
  • Could you not use not ground? Like the actual bits...thighs, legs, breasts? That can open up interesting new recipes and techniques. But mince... meatballs, burgers, chili/tacos/ect, bolognaise, lasagne, mousaka, cottage pie type thing, meatloaf...nah, all out of ideas now...
  • I love Options Hot Chocolate...about 40 calories a mug, though i sometimes add a little milk so ends up being about 80 depending on how much! Seems to fill me up if I'm nibbly at bedtime.
  • This isn't gonna be helpful...took about 6 weeks for me to even out! But i was just having horrific mood swings. Seriously, i was like the Hulk. And i tapered for ages!!! Speak to your doctor.
  • I found the carton in tesco in the end! Asda doesn't have it for some reason! Haven't used any yet, cooked brekkie is more a weekend thing! I hate throwing away food. I try to use as much of things as i can...i paid for it afterall!!
  • I use it for cooking (replacing olive oil), skin and hair. I haven't found it makes any difference to be honest. I am losing fat. But I was when I wasn't using it. I wasn't eating it with a spoon though. I think people put it in coffee. Still sounds bogging. Would you eat a spoon of sunflower oil? Same difference. Its…
