Great post and I agree, MFP and rowing was the 'secret weapon' for me too! There's also nothing like a little one to keep you motivated too, CONGRATULATIONS!! Keep it up!

Don't let a 'bad day' put you off!

I wish I could help but sorry, I just haven't come across this. (I didn't want you to think you being ignored though!) Best of luck with finding a solution to what sounds like a really annoying problem. Hope you manage to sort it soon.

Well, what a busy few days... Three days - three marathons!! I won't bore you with any more after this but thought I may as well post my stats for these and just say that once the first one was over they get much less frightening - I didn't even mean to complete the one today as I was only aiming for a HM but just kept…

For me I just decided I had to do something and started out by simply cutting out the chocs etc and making better choices with my food. Logging and using MFP was essential for me to keep on track as I had obviously lost track of what I 'should' be eating. I approached it one day at a time from the start. My motivation...…

I've found success stories really helpful and encouraging throughout my journey so far so just have to add my own here - hope it helps others! Well done to everyone posting for the great job and showing us it can be done :) Exactly 100lbs gone between photos, and still working at it... (and fully relaxed there, despite how…

Would a rowing/cycling/elliptical machine be out of the question? Great cardio! Failing that, it's already been said - "Remember 80% diet and 20% exercise. You can do it!"

Good luck with achieving your goal :) MFP is a great place to be and can really help on your journey to a new you! I started with aiming to lose just over 100lbs and have got there - it can be done taking it one step at a time and enjoying a new healthier approach without getting obsessed. I too started after the doc…

As I haven't got my own thread (!) I thought I may as well post another update here... Completed my second marathon today! :) Since the last one I have completed: 3x hour sessions 10x half marathon (the norm) 3x 25km 1x 3/4 marathon However, for one reason or another I haven't rowed for the last four days, so coming into…

Oh, gee thanks!! Now you've got me blushing!!

Thanks for all your lovely comments :) Today I made the 100lbs lost point which gets me more or less to my original goal! As mentioned previously it's much more about losing fat and gaining muscle now so the scales aren't everything. I think there's still some way to go but I'm really happy with progress so far and looking…

When you add the excercise you can simply amend the calories used to what you want e.g. 1 Then you'll be able to log without adding the cals. Good luck :)

Well... I DID IT! :) Completed my first marathon last Saturday and it went without a hitch. I actually started the session just thinking I was going to do a half marathon but felt really good at that point and, knowing I had plenty of time, thought I'd continue on for the full distance. It was a great session throughout…

Simply awesome!

Meh, don't worry about it at all! Too many times in the past I've thought "Oh that's ruined things I may as well not bother"... and then stopped trying. However, this time I haven't worried in the slightest about bad days and just continued with logging and aiming to stay under where I can. It works  Each day is a…

I used to be 40/day but now use gum and lozenges - not a problem.

Perfect summary of how to do it!

I can't add anything that hasn't already been said!! Just amazing and you look FAB!!

Just paste the BBcode in directly, under your message in the comment box. You will have to do this each time you make a comment though as I don't think there is a way to set it to do this automatically (i.e. as a 'signature') e.g. Hope that helps!

On your profile page under your 'my progress' ticker is a link 'Add to your site' - click on that and then follow the instructions there (just copy and paste the BBcode) :)
