Some people like the Walden Farm sauces and dressings. i find most of them inedible, but there are a couple that i use. They are 0 carb and 0 calories.

The last two weeks have been my fastest weight loss ever -- 7 pounds in two weeks. This despite the fact that i am much more relaxed about calories now that i have my carbs consistently under 30 a day. I generally try to stay under 1400, but if i am genuinely hungry, i eat something. I do between 60 and 120 minutes of…

Bonnie -- That is so great! Your hard work is really paying off in the most important ways.
-
Trina - you are awesome! Thank you so much for posting your very inspiring story. It really started my day off right. I have also found that limiting carbs has been essential to my weight loss. I do a lot of weight bearing exercise (boxing, pilates, barre, belly dancing), and lately i have also tried to increase my cardio,…

when i first started i got a rebounder, and just jumped while i watched tv. eventually i got an elliptical as well. if you have the money and the space (not that rebounder takes much of either) having something right in the house that you can just use for a few minutes whenever you are so inclined can make a big…

Hey Bonnie -- oh my goodness, i have been there. actually, i am willing to bet that we all have. sometimes when i am having trouble with my eating, i try to increase my activity. it makes me feel good about myself, which is half of the battle. another thing i do is give myself permission to up my calories to a maintenance…

I actually do best when i stay below 20 net carbs. Net carbs is the number of carbs an item has, minus the amount of fiber. Net carbs works better for me because that way you can still eat veggies, since they are high fiber. If i do that, and exercise 5 or 6 days a week, i can eat 1400 (or even 1500) calories a day and…

Odirsih -- i dont know if this is true for other people, but for me, i find that i can eat more calories if fewer of them come from carbs. i eat a lot of lean protein and healthy fats, like from avocado, oil oil and nuts. and, while i dont lose as quickly if i go over calories, i have continued to keep losing.

did Will tell you it was too late to start? cause i know plenty of people are still joining. i will check with him.
-
Odirish -- let me know if you dont get an invitation by teh end of the day. Cowleyl -- did you get an invitation?
-
I'd love to. What do I have to do? I will give your name to one of the folks in charge and he will send you an invitation. Anybody else?

I am excited about it. you get points for every ten minutes of exercise and there are tons of challenges that involve healthy behavior, regardless of weight loss. There is one where you set your own activity challenge, another where you make a list of the things you want to work on and they make it into a bingo card for…

Anybody interested in joining a biggest loser challenge? they have a new one starting up this coming monday and i would love to see some familiar faces.

I find that i eat fewer calories if i make sure to eat regularly throughout the day. if i go too long without eating anything, i get insatiably hungry. i also try to include fats throughout the day -- macademia nuts, olive oil, avocados and loaded coffee. Most days i aim to stay under 1400 calories.

Just wanted to post a thank you to everyone who took the risk of being honest and revealing themselves on this thread. Reading all of these comments meant a lot to me.

If i had a million $, i would invest all of it in Keith's bacon taco shell!

Both the photos and your story are super inspiring, Dan. Can i just suggest, for people who hate exercise, that you try boxing? Not kick boxing or cardio boxing or any of those newfangled notions. Real boxing boxing. Tons of fun, easy on the joints and a great work out in every way.

Can i just say, GrannyMay, that you get a 10 out of 10 for adorableness. Sorry to hear that the man was a grouch. We have kind of the opposite situation here -- i have been moody and difficult all week. I feel like i will soon make the Guiness book of world records for being the first woman ever to be in peri-menapause for…

I LOVE this thread. Welcome kitncat. you are in the right place for sure. can i share my low carb dilemma with you guys? (if your answer is no, now is the time to skip to the next post). In January i started reducing my carbs by counting net carbs. Got down to 20 net carbs a day. In 9 weeks i lost 15 pounds, as well as 5.7…

Do you prefer any particular kind of coffee? should it be strong? when i went to buy coconut oil i noticed that some was for medium heat and some for medium high heat. Is one better than the other?

Bonnie -- my sister took me on a spa weekend last year and they had them there. It was a 40 minute class and i only made it for about half an hour -- it got my heart rate way up in no time. She is taking me away to the same place again over Easter weekend and i cant wait to try them now that i am in much better shape.

i love nuts and find that an ounce of macademia or almonds is a great on the go snack. however, i weigh them out and put them in a baggie, so i know for sure i am only eating an ounce. if i just snack on them without restraint, i end up eating trillions.

When i was counting calories, i was eating 1100-1200 a day and losing only very slowly. Since i started cutting down on carbs, i have been eating about 1400 calories a day and losing weight about three times faster than i did before.

i have never tried a pogo stick but i tried kangaroo shoes once -- they were super fun and no stress at all on my leg or joints, but amazingly good aerobic exercise. http://kangoo-jumps.com/

Good Afternoon All -- i saw my pulmonologist yesterday (i was diagnosed with chronic obstructive lung disease last may) and a good time was had by all. She was thrilled with my progress. I dont think she is used to people actually following her instructions when she tells them to lose weight and exercise. Interestingly,…

i am not worried about performance. i am just trying to figure out what i can do to make ketosis more easily attainable for me. and, since i enjoy exercising, i was thinking i could tailor my routine in whatever way is most effective.

Yes indeed Skyweigh-- less choice and more inspiration. when i was younger, i focused on looking cute and health seemed so optional. now its about moving and breathing freely. In a week it will be ten months exactly since i started focusing on my health. i have lost 39 pounds so far -- hoping to lose one more this week to…

Jewels -- how awesome are you! You are indeed a gem. I go back to my pulmonologist on Monday -- havent seen her since May. Fingers crossed for good news.

I started out counting net. It worked great for me for a couple of months, and then the weight loss slowed. I am now transitioning to counting total, which i am finding to be much more challenging. I am making the change because my experience with my body has been that i do best if i mix things up. Once my body gets used…
