I didn't get your last post before my previous post. Given this information, I would recommend eating 1800-1900 for a couple of weeks and only consider re-evaluating this after a couple of weeks.

It is not reasonable to assume that a fluctuation of 1 lb on a scale is a real gain (other than water weight or noise). My weight often varies several pounds. Some weeks I seem to either gain or maintain when I know that I lost - and the next week my weight will confirm this by losing twice as much as normal. Anyways,…

Obsessively check myfitnesspal.com forums. Also waste a lot of time counting every single calorie and check the nutrition information that other people have put, because if you steal several Gerber Graduate puffs from your baby and you find out that the nutrition information is exactly the same as what other people have…

What have you been trying? Have you tried counting calories and making sure you stay at a deficit?

It's not too bad. 8am.

I like this suggestion

So true.

If you log it, it isn't cheating. I do use one of those little ~60ml liquid measuring cups.

I like the taste of plain greek yogurt after mixing a banana with it, although I also like the taste of it plain.

You may want to build core strength and exercises at helping to prevent running injuries later on, like squats, planks, crunches, etc. I was getting to were I would do 15-20 miles per week before having shin and knee issues that set me back and I'm can't wait to get back on track. You can google "exercises for runners" for…

I agree that you should let her know how you felt. It is easy for off-hand comments to end up being hurtful. It is understandable that you felt bad. Humans aren't always rational beings (and usually aren't). Of course we should always try not to be insulted by such things, but that doesn't mean that we should be judged for…

Are you exposed to much sunlight during the day and is your room very dark at night? I'm guessing this isn't the problem, but not getting enough sunlight or having lights at night can throw off your circadian rhythm (which is driven by receptors in eyes that are sensitive to blue wavelength light). You might want to try…

Yay!!

Thanks for the suggestion! I will plan on adding hip exercises.

I ended up gaining, although I'm pretty happy with my eating and exercising. I did increase my goal calories, such that I should lose 1 lb / week. I think the increase in weight might be just random fluctuation. I might decrease my goal calories if I don't decrease next week.

You make chocolate from cocoa beans?

@Steffie782000 good job on your commitment to get back on track! You can do it!

My leg / knee has been acting up, so I've cut back a lot. I've learned more about proper running form, warming up, and core exercises, so once I recover I hope I can prevent further injury. Frustrated. Good luck on your 10K, jemsurf!

My favourite breakfast food is an Egyptian dish called ful medames (there are many different spellings), which are cooked fava beans with cumin and olive oil and, perhaps, lemon juice. Unfortunately, it is hard to get in the US. The best I've had is canned which costs around $1 (it might either say ful medames or fava…

I've mainly had difficulty keeping up with exercise regimens during my PhD studies. It is easy to interrupt something that is not an established habit. I don't really have better recommendations than others about night snacking, not keeping snacks around seems like a really good suggestion. You may want to pre-plan some…

My weight has been either stationary or jumping down, I think from the "measurement noise". I tell myself not to worry when it is stationary, but it is so nice when it does go down. I've updated the last column so that it is automatic (doesn't need to be updated each week). It seems to work, although I don't understand the…

I love the idea of this challenge! I'm not sure how much of the test I will do the first time round, although I would be tempted to add duration of holding a plank.

I'm glad you are joining in!

Zach Anner with his Workout Wednesdays! He has cerebral palsy and is very inspirational and funny.

Why not track calories during juice fast? After the juice fast, you may want to try to maintain for a while before of continuing to lose weight. Good luck!
-
I didn't see your goal on the chart, so I just added it. Cheers.
-
Thank you HatherM! I like the new format too. I'm putting the same goal as last month: 65 miles.
-
I also maintained. I think I met my calorie goal everyday except, perhaps, once where I was within 50 calories, so I think it might just be fluctuations. I feel like I've had to cut back on running in order to avoid injuries. BTW, good job Melanieleasure and Ravenzwart!

You have done really well this month. You have a lot to take pride in even if you are not able to run any more this month!
-
It looks like I'm back on track also. BTW, I found out how to make the spreadsheet automatically use the last weight entered (for the remaining weight to lose). For my column 12, it is: "=INDEX( FILTER( B12:N12 , NOT(ISBLANK(B12:N12))) , COUNTA(B12:N12) ) - O12" This way, there won't be negative values when we haven't…
