Send me a friend request, if you like. This is my second go 'round at MFP, having lost 65 lbs. back in 2012. I know this program works and I know how to do it, but my problem is like yours - I am too damned lonely, and I need motivation. Also, I am a great "pal" to have here as I reply to all posts. I'm 65 and retired, so…

I'm back as of yesterday after being away from MFP since January. Wow, I was gobsmacked about how lonely it feels here now. WTH happened to the timeline? I still have "pals" but what's the use of having them unless we can communicate via the timeline! Whoever made this decision @ MFP corporate should be fired. Why call it…

I agree! I've been off MFP since January. Came back yesterday and it's a ghost town! I still have friends/pals, but nothing shows up on my timeline. Is this new? And yes, I soooo ,miss the weight loss check-in. We need that ego boost!

I just finished 2 by Khaled Hossieni: "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns". I highly recommend them, but read them with a box of Kleenex - oh, so sad. :( But so well written. They're about children in Afghanistan. Now I'm reading "State Of Fear" by the late, great Michael Crichton. It's about climate change and…

Hi Carolyn! 62 year old here! Had heart surgery back in 2020 and now I am embracing life and trying to get to Onederland before this fat kills me permanently. Feel free to friend me! (Anyone looking for a supportive friend who comments every single day on your posts, please friend me, too! :) )

Oooh, I can relate to this entire thread! I've gained and lost and gained and lost so many pounds over the years, I should be hanging from a charm bracelet by now. LOL! I need support and am a great supporter to my friends, so please ADD ME! :)

I can't believe they would simply stent you and not do open heart surgery. You must surely have some heart (muscle) damage. What is your ejection fraction now? The widowmaker heart attack occurs when the left anterior descending artery (LAD) is totally or almost completely blocked. The critical blockage in the artery -…

Lawdy, yes! I can sooo relate to this thread! I lost 65 lbs. on MFP back in 2011-2012. Got a knee injury and gained a bit more than half of it back. Then spent a year or tow yo-yo'ing...lose, gain, lose gain...(considering all that weight loss, I should be hanging from a charm bracelet. lol), but I wasn't logging! I…

I made a cream cheese veggie pizza today and it's fabulous - only 70 calories per slice!

I kind of creep my pals' pals...and send a request to the ones who either make me laugh, have a pic of a dog, a cat or other animal as their avatar, and/or are consistently supportive. :) I reject any requests that are blank or seem to be a pal collector.

"If it's not in the house, it's not in my mouth." Clean out all the crap from your fridge and pantry, and shop carefully. I pre-plan meals a week at a time, then I scan the grocery store flyers once a week and make a list (saves money this way, too, as I often "store hop" to get the best deals). Stick to the list…

I'm 58, and this is my 4th time in 6 years at MFP. The first was in 2011, and I lost 65 lbs by on my one-year "logiversary". Hit a bad plateau that lasted 6 mos, then gave up. Gained back 50 lbs. Since then, I've been a yo-yo. Can't seem to find my motivation. I obviously screwed up my metabolism so it's twice as hard now.…

Welcome to MFP...I'm Julie from just north of Toronto! All my fellow Canucks are welcome to add me. :)

HI all! I am 57 yrs. old and this is my third time with MFP (she says, embarrassed)....first time, I lost 65 lbs. Then hit a plateau and didn't lost an ounce for 6 mos. Totally went off the wagon big time, gained half of it back, joined MFP the 2nd time...lasted 3 weeks and discovered, much to my dismay, that my metabolism…

This dieting thing is not easy, and sometimes, we crash and burn. But every day is a new day to try again. That is how I am choosing to look at it. My story.... Two years ago, I weighed 60 lbs. less than I do now, thanks to this website. But when I hit a plateau that lasted 6 months with no change, no matter what I tried.…

Hi Blue Butterfly. Your story touched my heart. What I got most, while reading your story, was sooo much shame. Once you learn to control the shame, your self-esteem will rise, and you will be inspired by your own efforts to control your weight. This dieting thing is not easy, and sometimes, we crash and burn. But every…
