I don't know if it's ideal, but I just created a cardio exercise I called "Apple Watch Calories" and I input my active minutes and calories burned that way. It still works on less active days where I earn a few hundred with regular activity. However I only add about half to be on the safe side when it comes to eating them…

I've not seen a way to input steps, but I'm not sure there is much benefit other than seeing it all in one place ( I do get that though). Similarly, I have an apple watch. I joined late but did it! Started Sep 25, 222.5, got to exactly 192.5 on Christmas Eve. Stayed on plan the last couple days but indulged in foods I don't normally eat, so up a bit in water weight... but I'm still counting it a win!
