I was considering a surgery for few years because I have been overweight for a long time and did not do it in the end. I lost 175+ lbs only by counting calories, taking detailed notes in my diary of all food that I input, tracking my activity with Fitbit, not freaking out when I eat too much sometimes and it has changed my…

Just log it and continue as if nothing happens. It is important to understand that this is not the end of the world. It is all in numbers. Just count the numbers and move toward your goal.

Agree with all said before, you just need to be very precise in your tracking. Also what I found is that it is important not to overestimate your activity level, always go with sedentary and if needed add the calories you spend with your activities. I have my Fitbit flex and it is tracking my steps which really helps. I…

That is it, I have also lost so far 205 lbs doing the same and am not done yet but there are no question marks for my future and for maintenance when I get to that - everything is so simple. There are no magic tricks, pills, just simple CICO works. Great job, so proud of you :-)

I lost more than 171 pounds so far and know that it can be done. For me the important thing was realising that no crazy diets will work, because they got me to where I was. The only thing I am doing is getting more calories out than bringing in and I eat everything. I mean everything - when I want chocolate, I just have…

Thank you all :-) I am still well on my journey, just dropped below 100 kg and still going strong. Logging my food and planning for meals in advance is proving to be the most important thing that I am doing, it is this structure that not only makes me successful in losing but also will keep me in check when I get to my…

@shelsplace The best thing is knowing I can now keep this weight off. MFP has been an amazing tool for me and it is so easy to keep track of everything :-) Of course I feel great, clothes dropped in size so I can dress in beautiful clothes and I have so much energy to do more things in my life. Strange things are that in…

Agree with previous comments. As for me I weigh in daily because I feel that it is keeping me accountable. This is really a personal choice so you decide for yourself, there is no right and wrong with that.

I was overweight my whole life and I will be 49 this year. Now looking back only last ten years really super obese with weight going up to 377 lbs at its highest. I dieted first when I was 10 years old and ever since all I did was dieting and bouncing up and down in the range of 45 lbs. Ten years ago I really hit the heavy…
