  • I thought the same thing - how does it know? I'm going to be watching this thing just because I'm curious. But you are right - that this is super ugly! Must have been made by a man - but even for a man it's ugly!
  • And thank you to everyone for posting - I love asking questions here because I get so much more information which ultimately helps me.
  • Except for logging my food I don't put anything else into MFP - I let my Fitbit sync and show exercise calories but I don't add anything like "walking on treadmill at 3.0 mph for 30 minutes" or anything like that. And I have it set to active because five days out of the week I walk that much and the other two (unless it's…
  • I am still a bit confused about exercise calories and deficit vs surplus - basically what I do is log my food every day and let my fitbit sync to MFP. I don't add any exercises such as treadmill or ab workout (I bought a small trampoline too the other day) but should I be adding those to MFP? This losing weight thing could…
  • I didn't even consider that - thank you. I did notice the night before that my ankles seemed to be puffier than normal and I contributed it to the fact that I had been sitting a good portion of the day trying to get homework done. So because I am basically into a new week I will see how I do and then take my measurements…
  • I've lost 20 pounds in three months - I'm not sure that would have changed if someone else was looking at my diary? Personally I don't see losing 20 pounds as cheating myself - I am actually very proud of myself!
  • This is why so many people keep it private - because you don't know why someone eats what they do and it's really none of our business. Like Lynn - I would love to add milk to my list of foods but I can't - the end :)
  • That's pretty good - it gives us an idea of what we no longer are carrying around :)

  • I watch for sugar and calories and sodium - I never read packages before using MFP and I am amazed at the sodium content in most frozen foods - it's scary. I use Splenda but for the most part I drink water, with an occasional Diet Coke :)
  • www.fitbit.com/user/2DCCFW I had the HR for about a week but the band was too small so I returned it. Nobody had an HR in a large so I chose the Charge instead. Except for the heart rate it's the same and I finally got it to sync today - my HR never did :(
  • So I returned by HR because the band was just too uncomfortable and moved down to a Charge. I am charging it now so I will see how well I like it in a couple of days :) And yes, I got a large band!
  • Good job - it sounds like you have a plan and are headed in the right direction! Keep on track and you will do well.
  • Got mine last Thursday and I love it - would love it better if the sync issue was fixed but I love being able to see how close I am to my step goal.
  • Yup add me to the list :(
  • I was doing fine while I had my Flex but I just bought an HR and the first couple of days were fine but Friday (after logging over 10,000 steps) it decided to stop working. Today was the same - makes it really hard to know where you stand on calories needless to say. I sure hope they figure it out soon!
  • Great job! That's one of my goals too - reducing the medical issues :)
  • Great job - you look great and I applaud your success!
  • I have the Fitbit Flex and I love it - it's easy to wear and waterproof so the only time I really have to take it off is to charge it. I don't have a problem with people seeing it, sometimes it becomes the topic of conversation and they end up buying one. I am considering getting a Fitbit Charge but I haven't decided yet.
  • Never to late to start - I am 53 and have been using MFP for almost 5 weeks now and I am learning what works and what doesn't. Last week didn't work but I know why. I am 5'8" and I started at 186 and I am down 6 pounds but only because last week I gained back all of the 5 pounds I lost the week before :( But it's ok - I am…
  • I have found that ice cream and milk are no good for me - but I can tolerate cheese. It will be a trial and error type thing to see what your body will allow and what it won't. When I began having problems I added one thing to see what happened - then moved on from there.
  • I have a fitbit flex but I am seriously thinking about getting a fitbit charge and giving a friend of mine the flex - to help her stay motivated :)
  • I sometimes wonder why they can say something about "being to skinny" but they never said anything about "being to overweight"?
  • I agree and to be honest because I had lost so much the week before I thought I could cheat more than I should have - so I found out that's not quite the way it works :)
  • OK I never considered that - I have been using the treadmill and increasing the speed plus I am also doing a stand up ab routine but I felt that I wanted to add one more thing to pick up the heart rate.
  • I was thinking the same thing Liftng4Lis but I have seen the loss results so that will keep me motivated. And someone else said the same thing about water weight - I am pretty sure the chili and then pretzels for a snack last night did not help but I also thought I could cheat a little since I did so well the week before.…
  • I tend to have some left because my work schedule is so erratic sometimes but it also gives me a little leeway when I want to go over my calories.
  • Great job and have fun !
  • One day at a time :) That's what works for me - log everything you eat and drink and don't expect miracles the first week or two it took me that long to figure it out. I've only been doing MFP a month and I am already down 12 pounds not including the 10 I lost before MFP. Nothing is off limits - as long as you don't exceed…
  • Awesome job to all of you - I hope to be posting here in just a few months!
  • Absolutely amazing - you look wonderful!
