  • The lowest I have ever been as an adult is 165, and I was a size 8. Unfortunately, I was not healthy when I was that weight. In law school, working hard and playing harder. I did a number on my body with diet pills, which made my thyroid quit on me (could have happened on it's own since it's hereditary, will never know).…
  • My in laws are staying with us for 12 days! My goal is not to spend 1000 of my calories on wine each night! Kidding, kind of...
  • I am so bloated right now, feel so fat, gained 3 lbs. Just checked and i am right around ovulation day. So ready for it to come off. Decided not to weigh until i feel the bloat go away. It's so frustrating!!
  • I feel your pain!!! I lost 8 lbs last month, and have gained 3 back so far this month. Hoping its water retention because I started a more intense workout program. Hopefully in the next week i will lose a bunch at once...
  • OK, thanks! That will also maybe help me figure out my real NEAT. MFP might have me too low. I got a BMR test done a couple of years back and it said my BMR is in the 1500's. When I put it on MFP to lose 1 lb per week, the number was my BMR, according to the test. That's why I chose 0.5 lbs/week.
  • Thank you for taking the time to reply! I am doing this fitness app that sets out the workouts for you. The abs circuits say 15 minutes, but so far i have accomplished them in 10 or so. Maybe later in the program it actually takes the full 15, not sure yet. I decided to go this route after hurting my piriformis from doing…
  • I appreciate your response! Yes, it hasn't exactly been a steady thing, which I know is normal. I lost 8 lbs in January, then added in more consistent exercise and have gained 3 back in February. I know it's either water retention or i am not being accurate enough in my calorie estimates. I have upped the wine intake as…
  • I just came on the message boards looking for answers to the same question! I started a similar workout last week and i am so tired! I am doing Anna Victoria's new Body Love app and it's weights mixed in with cardio spurts. So i feel your pain!
  • Hey! I have one question about your answer, something that I am having a hard time figuring out. You said to eat back a chunk of your workout calories. What if you have no earthly idea how to estimate what you have burned? Are you saying to go with MFP estimates for calories burned and eat half of that back? NEAT puts my…
  • Right now I am toying with 40% carbs, 30% Protein, 30% Fat. However, I am usually under my carb goal and over my fat goal, probably from being used to eating paleo for the last couple of years.
  • i get confused on the cooked weight vs raw weight. My husband cooks it before i get home from work and usually fails to measure it dry.
  • awesome, thanks! I will check it out!
  • Let's just say I ate what I ate (and drank) and today is a new day!
  • Well, my husband is from Boston and we are going to a Super Bowl watch party at a bar with other local Pats fans. Last year the party was so crazy, they broke the outside deck from all the jumping around. I think this year will be a little more tame. So yeah, beer, wings, nachos, all the deliciousness. I went below my net…
  • I have been banking some of my exercise calories during the week for wine on the weekends. My net calories for Sunday - Wednesday have been trending under my goal and my net calories for Thurs-Sat have been over my goal. I have only been logging this way for 2 weeks now, so i won't really know if this will truly work for a…
  • I am 5'6" and 200 lbs. I wear a US size 12 pants/dress and a L shirt. I am lucky that I have an hour glass shape and must be very dense.
  • You pretty much listed what i like to drink. I am always trying new sparkling waters. Waterloo is new to my area and it's so delicious. I also like Hint water. I may have to try the vinegar thing, since I also love Kombucha. I drink black coffee and unsweetened iced tea with lemon. And bring on the wine Thurs-Sat!
  • You look much younger now. Great job! I hope to be around 30 lbs lighter in 6 months too!
  • totally, i should have used quotes, i was trying to tie it back to the original post, though unsuccessfully!
  • I know this is digressing, but I have done 3 Whole 30's (last one was a Whole 20 because I was over it), and I have learned a few things. 1. I don't have any intolerance to any one food group (aside from mild lactose intolerance), so there is no point in further eliminations, 2. I don't like the psychological effects of…
  • my husband dislikes eggs, so he does a lot of sides forbreakfast, like some roasted potatoes, fruit and bacon. Either that or he does english muffin with peanut butter, small bagel with cream cheese and tomato, cottage cheese and melon, or a protein shake or smoothie, stuff like that. If you like to cook, you could always…
  • Thanks for reminding me about it. Now that i am off the paleo bandwagon, i think i may need to have some lunch there this weekend!
  • I am so late to this thread, but as someone who previously swore by Whole 30 and Paleo on and off for a couple of years, and is still sitting here at least 30 lbs too heavy, I can attest that no matter how clean (insert definition) your diet is, if your goal is to lose weight, what matters more is portion size, calories…
  • Update, it's been a week and i have not reached for any seconds!! I also finally bought a scale so now i know how much pasta i can actually have, and there is no jamming extra into the measuring cup anymore, haha. Oh the things i did to cheat myself....
  • Living in Texas, it's hard to get in outdoor workouts in the summer time, it's just too hot and humid from late June through late September. You have to go early in the morning or like 8 PM in order to beat the heat at all. Basically, once summer comes, I stop running outdoors and i try o do more indoor activities, like…
  • 4 oz of chicken breast is like 26 g of protein right? Greek Yogurt has tons as well. I also sprinkle 1 scoop of vital farms collagen peptides in my oatmeal (it's completely undetectable), and a tablespoon of peanut butter. That makes my breakfast like 20 grams of protein. If you are low and you eat meat, then maybe add an…
  • @rckeeper22 wow, your program sounds crazy! no wonder why you burn calories like a champ. That's so awesome that you are able to get in those classes. I really enjoy a class atmosphere, having people around me brings out my competitive side and pushes me to do more than I normally would. I like to jog as well. I call it…
  • @rckeeper22 - I have dabbled with Whole30 and paleo eating. Some people swear by it. For me, personally, I have decided, if i can't keep it up forever, it's not worth my time. It was very helpful to eliminate certain food groups and then reintroduce them in order to find out if anything affected me negatively. Luckily, the…
  • It's too early to tell, I just started back to counting calories this week. I did the Whole 30 for like 20 days and then was like nope. So I am back to an eat what you want but keep in your calories mindset. Whole 30 did help get me to up the veggies, so it wasn't a total waste of time. My energy right now is great. I am…
  • I got my RMR measured at Lifetime Fitness a few years ago. My RMR was around 1500 (if i remember correctly) so they had put me on a 1800-2100 calorie eating plan. I am currently trying to stick to 1800 calories, which is what MFP actually has for me to lose 1 lb per week. Yay for having a high RMR, must be all that muscle!
