I did hula hoop type exercises with dance moves like salsa and belly dance. Lot's of torso twisting. This really helped tone my middle and has given me a more defined waistline. It has not helped reduce any belly fat perse. So if you add these exercises along with lowering your calories.... you should see some changes!

She may have a fructose intolerance which is why typical fruits are bothersome but not vegetables, nuts.... And other people have an allergy to something in raw fruit (possibly an enzyme) but not if the fruit is cooked. As others have mentioned cutting back on fruit tends to be a great way to lose weight, not gain it. Baby…

I am in PNW and it's currently pouring rain. I also love walks and hikes but yeah...... the weather. If you have the cash invest in a good quality raincoat that has a zip in fleece. This way you can remove the fleece depending on the temperature. Quick dry socks, an umbrella and hiking boots that will keep your feet dry…

I could not give up chocolate and when I want something sweet chocolate is the first thing I go to. But you do need to fit it into your calorie budget. Dark chocolate bars are my favorite because you can eat just a couple squares. I also love homemade hot chocolate. I make mine: 1 oz cup milk, I use 2% 2 teaspoons sugar 1…

I think "skinny fat" is where someone looks at a healthy weight or even underweight, but their muscle to fat ratio is too low. They either need to add muscle or change fat to muscle. Their weight on the scale might not change but their health is improved!

I usually food prep breakfast, lunch and snacks for the work week. This week I did 5 large salads, quinoa and baked chicken, breakfast no crust quiche of kale and red peppers (with english muffins), snack is cottage cheese and diced apple cups. I use mason jars and rubbermaid containers. Soups are easy to make ahead and…

Yes spaghetti squash! For creamy sauces I like them on roasted cauliflower or "riced" cauliflower.

Thanks. I have 2 friends who take HBP meds but don't need to lose weight. They are both in shape and ideal body weight and seem to eat well. But there are a number of factors for HBP, including stress and age. I am really hoping mine goes down as I lose weight.

Portion control ideas: Buy smaller or single serving treats. Not the whole gallon of ice cream. Even if it's on sale LOL If you have a larger portion of something – share it! This means smaller portions for everyone and a good social feeling to go with the treat. Portion out treats into snack bags and write the calorie…

My favorite tea is Rooibos which is an herbal tea from africa. Caffeine free. It's a red tea that has a ton of antioxidants and sweet flavor. It's included a lot of tea blends and my favorite is Red Chai or Vanilla Red. You can drink it plain or with cream and sugar. It's wonderful iced.…

So I've found having a number of exercise options that cover indoor, outdoor, work and home seems to get the job done! - if it the weather is good I walk outside on my work breaks or at home after work and on the weekends. So lots of ways to…
