ATTENTION ~ I'm saying good-bye my friends. I bought the Fitbit Charger HR and it turns out that they have a website like this one that's all set up with their devices. It has been fantastic to get to know you all ~ wishing you all the very best!!! T

Most of my knowledge about diabetes comes from attending diabetic classes and diabetic nutrition classes. They recommended to spread carbs throughout the day, pairing carbs with protein and/or fiber, and 15-30 carbs for snacks, 30-60 carbs for meals, which totals 135-270 carbs per day.

Monyokks ~ my husband is a teacher, a big bowl of mini candy bars, etc. is kept available at all times for the staff. Countless cupcakes, donuts, etc etc etc is brought in. He takes his lunch everyday too! Good for you for taking your lunch and for talking to your coworker so she understands that really was mean.…

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! I've got to sit down today and plan for Saturday and Sunday! Have a super day everyone and stay on track for the weekend :D I'm with you ForLynne ~ I'm still "making" myself walk and like you, I know there will come a day that it's just a part of my routine day. I'm not sure how to get past feeling…

I'm going to Best Buy this morning to return Garmin Vivofit or Fitbit Charger HR. The Garmin Vivofit has inaccurate steps and calories burned. The Fitbit Charger HR also has the 24/7 heart rate monitor.

Way to step it up Irbanton! :D

I'm a diabetic too. Heavy whipping cream has no sugar to go on top of the sugar free pudding. Sugar free frozen pop-cycles. Look at Walden Farm Products at waldenfarms.com no sugar, no sugar alcohol, no calories. I get Walden Farms products at Albertsons, some people say Fred Meyer but I don't know if they carry them.

I love it ~ can't wait to eat more because I can exercise more!!!

I agree ladies, planning for treats is a great strategy, savor it! I save my treat for fruit (being diabetic it is a better choice then a dessert). However, I believe I can have anything. I pair up fruit/dessert (high sugar) with protein and/or fiber to stop the glucose "spike".

Great to read all your posts - well done ladies! Help with calories burned.... is it 20 steps equals 1 calorie? So far I've walked 5545 steps divided by 20 equals 227 calories. My Garmin Vivofit says 5545 steps burns 2131 calories which is 2.62 miles. I think 227 is most likely not 2131 - does anyone know?

Staying Motivated ~ Write down the pro's and con's of what you want to change (why do you want to change this? what's the benefit if I do and what am I loosing out on if I don't?). Keep records to track your progress. It is normal to have days where you don't want to do it and/or you don't feel like you're making progress…

Had a great day ~ happy with my food and exercise! No temptations today but the day before I started MFP.... my husband left his mini butterfingers at home (instead of taking them to work), the package was open... open! When I noticed them, I immediately grabbed a gallon size baggie, wrote in permanent ink exactly how I…

EXCELLENT bethlauren8, great strategies. We live in Washington State so of course, Seahawk's fans. We will be hosting the party so I can control what's served here but not what everyone else is bringing. I'm going to follow your lead and exercise before hand. I do think that I can eat anything I want to but have told…

I heard they are at Fred Meyer's too. I had Thousand Island on my spring mix salad, very good (not as good as calorie loaded mayonnaise kind of Thousand Island but very good and I love no calories, no fat, no sugar, no carbs, no sugar alcohol. I can't believe how many products they have (I looked online too at…

Tried the chocolate syrup, alone it's not that appealing but with whip cream it's super.

Events ~ there will always be another event: a holiday, birthday, food at work, work luncheons/dinners, donuts at church, weddings, potlucks etc. You could use Lily's tip of not attending (going home for lunch) or bring her own food, Other tips are to plan what is available at the event that fits into your plan, eat before…
