  • Hi there. Congratulations! My daughter is 2 1/2 months old now and I’m working on losing the last few pounds I gained while I was pregnant. I was similar to you, a little heavy for my height. My OB recommended I gain between 25-30 lbs., and I ended up gaining the full thirty. During my pregnancy, I did some weightlifting…
  • My first is due November 27th, but my money is on December 2nd. :-)
  • My diary is open. Add me!
  • Hi there. I'm almost 26 weeks pregnant, and my doctor and I were both a little concerned about my 16 pound weight gain at last month's appointment. She suggested I get control over it since excessive weight gain can cause trouble during the pregnancy and because I'll just have to lose more weight after our daughter is…
  • I really like Vega One's All-in-one powder. The mocha, mixed berry, and vanilla chai are all really good and there are greens, veggies, and fruits in there as well if you tend to fall a little short on getting your recommended servings. It's not the cheapest protein powder but it is way cheaper than Shakeology.
  • I'm not vegan but I like Vega All-in-one in the mixed berry flavor. It tastes good, has 20g of protein and helps me get fruits and veggies. I like to mix it with unsweetened vanilla almond or soy milk.
  • I'm no expert but with those macros, I would suggest lean cuts of meat like chicken/turkey breast, sirloin, or pork loin. Load up on veggies and have some fruit, but try to steer clear of starchy foods as they're pretty high carb and will put you over you limit quickly.
  • I've been using mfp for several years off and on, but I quit counting when I got pregnant. I'm 6 months pregnant at the moment and at my doctor appointment last month, the OB was concerned with my weight gain. So I started counting again and started back at the gym per her instruction. Because the app has no settings for…
  • I always found that when I was using a Fitbit, the calories it said in burned, and the calories mfp said I burned were very different; the Fitbit would say I burned a lot more calories than mfp. I think fitbits and other wearables are better for a ballpark idea of how much you move and shouldn't be considered gospel. What…
  • I had an anchor lift with implants in 2012. Recovery wasn't horrible and they look great. Keep in mind that you could experience some numbness that may or may not go away over time. I have regained some of the sensation but it's nowhere near what it was pre-surgery.
  • 42g Vega All-In-One Mocha powder 5 oz. unsweetened chocolate almond milk 5 oz. Starbucks Blonde Roast iced coffee
  • I really like the Vega All-In-One powder in Mixed Berry. I'm not vegan but I am pregnant and pretty much off leafy green things at the moment so this powder helps me fit those in. I like to mix it with vanilla almond/soy milk. It's pretty tasty.
  • I really like my Sony h.ear on Wireless NC's. They're Bluetooth headphones but they also come with a cable in case your battery goes dead in the middle of a workout. They sound great and the battery lasts for a long time. I think I've only charged mine three or four times in about a year and a half. Here's a link for you…
  • I agree with the others who posted. Try eating 1/4 to 1/2 of your exercise calories and see how it goes for a little while. MFP calories burned for exercises can sometimes be inaccurate so you could possibly overeat because of that. Good luck! :-)
  • Protein powders, soy, whey, casein or otherwise, won't help your body to burn fat. They just help you reach your protein goals. If you don't like the taste of the soy protein you bought, you could try Vega One's All-In-One protein powder. I'm not vegan but I like this one because it comes in a nice berry flavor that I mix…
  • I frequently gain a whole pant size due to water retention around my period.
  • Some companies use odd numbering for sizes and others use even. So if you went from an 18 to a 14, that'd be two sizes. From a 19 to a 13 is three sizes. So I'd say you're probably between two and three sizes lost.
  • It won't necessarily be healthier. Cookies, cake, chips, etc. are vegetarian but still not the healthiest options. Instead of cutting meat out, why not stop eating the fast food? Prepare whole foods instead like baked chicken breast, lean beef, salmon, etc. If you're worried about not having enough time to cook every day,…
  • Here's a helpful page on how much protein you should be aiming for based on your weight and exercise: https://www.google.com/amp/www.bodybuilding.com/amp-content/women-and-protein-your-complete-guide.html
  • Hi there. I had a breast augmentation with a lift in 2012. My plastic surgeon did clear me to do any kind of exercise after my recovery period. As per my surgeon, implants are resilient and will usually last between 7 and 20 years through normal movement/exercise before needing to be replaced. Check with your surgeon if…
  • 1. Bell peppers with four bumps on the bottom are female and are better for eating raw. Bell peppers with three bumps are male and are better used to cook with.
  • I really like shake n bake. There are several different flavors to choose from and none of them are terribly high calorie. About 35 calories per serving.
  • Lemon will not help you lose fat. However, it is a natural diuretic and will help rid your body of retained fluid. So will cucumber. I put lemon or cucumber in my water sometimes in the days leading up to my period to help with water retention.
  • It's not necessary, but if you have a hard time hitting your recommended daily intake of protein, protein powder can help. Personally, I'm rarely able to hit my RDA of protein with food alone, so protein shakes help fill the gap.
  • I also take a multivitamin that turns my urine radioactive yellow, but it's only that color for a few hours after I take the vitamin. The same should be true for you; you should be able toaccurately judge your hydration based on the color of your urine a few hours after taking your vitamin. If you still don't think that…
  • Congrats on your weight loss! Unfortunately, there is no way to spot reduce fat from certain body parts. Your body will lose fat as it sees fit while you lose weight. Just keep up your good work and, eventually, you will see results in your thighs and hips as well.
  • I like dubstep with some heavy bass.
  • The short answer is yes; you will most likely lose fat from your butt and boobs, and while there is nothing you can really do about losing your boobs aside from cosmetic surgery, you can do some heavy weight training for your glutes to help minimize the loss of volume.
  • IMO, heavy lifting is when you are using a weight that is quite challenging for you to lift; I'd say that should be somewhere between 75-85% percent of what you are capable of lifting and doing lower rep set (between 8-12).
  • Strictly speaking, a caloric deficit is the most effective "diet". However, I do find that if my macros are off, I don't feel very good. If I don't get enough carbs or fats, I get pretty hangry. Likewise, if I don't get enough protein, I know I could lose muscle instead of fat. What seems to work best for me is about 45%…
