  • I'm not very creative with names. I use an iPhone, iPad, and iMac so I am just iBetty. The 55 is my favorite number
  • I believe keto will always be fringe. Low carb however which in many studies I have seen claim it to be 150 - 200 carbs will probably be what is recommended instead of low fat. Hopefully it will be more of a whole foods revolution which would benefit everyone including the cico crowd. Of course most people here know that…
  • I have opted out of this challenge. In my mind just one thing leads to others that changes outcomes so I cannot attribute any improvement to a one thing change. I am planning changes for June or at least part of it. For starters, dairy. With that I am also abstaining from coffee. Dilemma would be if any changes come from…

  • totaloblivia. I think I have read that the nibs can be ground up and used like powder but with a bit more oil already in it
  • http://www.elementsforlife.co.uk/recipes/basic-raw-chocolate-recipe I leave out the sweetener. My first attempt used a little too much cocoa so it's real chocolaty but better than straight cocoa powder. Poured it into 12 silicon muffin cups so have nice little rounds that I quarter and have a nice chunk of 100% dark…
  • Initial starting weight of 156.2. Ending weight 155.4 so a decrease of .8 lbs. for the month. in addition I hit a new low last Friday of 154.8 So I am very happy. I am quite content with doing no tracking. I find tracking very stressful and can do well without that. I am mindful of the carbs and with just eating fresh…
  • If you are in the U.S. Look at your fiber count and deduct that from your carbs to get Net. That is what is important for many people if you have no extenuating health issues. The veggies you listed are pretty high fiber
  • I've been reading Cordain's "the Paleo Answer" and he goes through all kinds of enzymes etc in dairy products that can be very detrimental to health and weight loss. I'm considering dairy free at least for a while as an experiment but might have to give up coffee also because I don't know if I can drink it without HWC
  • September 2014 so 8 months. Have lost 25 lbs that I have no wish to find. Still have 30 to go for goal but no hurry. I didn't know how bad I was feeling until I started LC and started feeling SO much better.
  • I eat cream cheese with a knife (spoons mess up the edges) sometimes I will stuff celery with it if I want a crunch.
  • Maintaining. Same as last week at 156.4. This week has been a real roller coaster though. Too much coffee I think. The weather rainy and cool
  • Wheat less I'm with you! Figure it's better than none at all and hopefully will help. I have never been able to do push-ups and even when doing weights could never get beyond 65 lbs in a bench press. Strangely could do quite a few reps but couldn't lift more
  • A good chug of pickle juice usually helps me
  • 156.4 this morning. Down .2 for the week. Up .2 for the month so far. No big change. Staying well within my carb goals and feeling great.
  • I'm more general LCHF. My carb range is typically around 20-30 but Staying below 50 is my goal.
  • Does that mean we jawbone UP users can join?

  • I know that feeling. Gave in last night too. Didn't even really enjoy it. Hopefully next opportunity I'll remember that before indulging
  • Weight 156.6 Up .4 lbs for the week. Was down .4 yesterday but made a bad decision last night and ate a slice of pizza. Have to own up to our transgressions I guess. Still under 50 carbs but they were bad ones!. Hopefully this almost pound will drop quickly for a better show next week.
  • I think my most noteworthy NSV is that for the first time in 5 years I can slip on and off my wedding rings! Haven't worn them all that time because had to take them off (big problem and had to get another ring cut off) for oral surgery and couldn't get them back on.

  • Chris, I'm sorry your leaving. Will miss you. I personally just do low carb and 90% of this forum doesn't directly relate but I so far keep reading because there are occasionally great links to blogs, books, articles etc that I find interesting but don't take the time to search out myself.
  • During my 7th month I suddenly started seeing great BP readings - Pulse rates too. Better than I have had on a consistent bases in probably 10 years. Been on meds probably about 5 years without this kind of lower readings
  • This mornings weight: 156.2 lbs. (started low carb 7 months ago at 179.8 lbs) generally stay below 50 carbs. Real as unprocessed as I can manage food. (Avoid added sugars, starches, all grains and processed foods-including so called keto substitutes) I will keep on as I am for this challenge. No counting.
  • Count me in. I stopped logging and counting two weeks ago so I'm good to go with a weight challenge!
  • When you find yourself laughing and dancing down the grocery isles you know something weird is happening to you.

  • That shopping gene passed me by also. If I can't find it on-line I must question carefully if I need it or not. Then I let my hubby do the grocery shopping!
  • That's some good looking meat!
