My new favorite recipe is the White Beans and Cabbage recipe from the SuperNatural Every Day cookbook. There's a link here: http://steamykitchen.com/14838-white-beans-and-cabbage.html Delicious! Hearty! Healthy!

Agreed! Focus on a lifestyle change-good habits in food choices and exercise opportunities.

This is also my experience. It's just one tool to be sure to get up and move around. Regardless of other exercise I do during the day, I try to make sure to also take at least 10,000 steps--because it is an easily obtainable, measurable goal, regardless of whatever else is going on in my day.

I use the OXO food scale w/pull out display. It allows for multiple tares, etc. I use a scale anyway for cooking/baking, so I didn't have to buy one for this dieting thing!

I use a Misfit Shine for steps and just got a Polar FT7 for actual calorie burn during workouts. I've had the Shine for several months and even when I was much less focused on getting my act together, it was a good motivator to get up and move during the day. Also use MFP, obvs, and the Misfit app, plus the new Apple…

I'm new to the social side of MFP. Looking to add positive, motivated motivators!!! Let's do this!

Hi! I've been on MFP for a few years, but finally serious now. I'm 47 and looking to lose ~30 lbs. I'm also doing a town Biggest Loser competition, but I'm really just using it as a starting point for motivation. So far, I've been logging for two weeks and am down almost 10 lbs--roughly 1/3 of my goal. Very stoked! :D…

Amazing! You should be so proud of yourself!

I also have the same goal. Good luck! We can do it!
