  • Vacations knock me for a loop. Went on a cruise and ate and drank horribly for a week, gained 15-20 lbs and was horrified, that was almost half what I lost the first go round. Then had an injury, plantar fasciitis , so was unable to run, which has always been my main tool to lose weight. So that weight stayed. And I had…
  • Hate this app, wrote a long message and hit the wrong done button, and it wiped out what I wrote. Tracking cycling is a mess on the watch. If I pick outdoor cycling and go for a challenging mountain bike ride with a HR in the 160's I get very little calorie credit, like in the teens, with single digit yellow ring credit.…
  • Probably water and sodium from the meals, probably goes away a few days after, just drink alot of water. I enjoy my weekends so weight for up then back down during week, long as your trend is down overall no reason to be too concerned.
  • I don't log a thing in mfp for excercise, I log them on the watch and then thew show up on mfp as a line item. I let the watch to everything, same as I did with my Fitbit. Which is why it was so odd I would get negative calories when the apple watch drove the excercises and step history.
  • I removed the negative calorie setting, and sanity has returned! Glad to see it wasn't just me! Thanks all!
  • I am fine with a conservative adjustment, but some days I'd get a negative 700 calorie adjustment after a lot or activity. Made me laugh! Guess I will turn off negative adjustments.
  • I am set at sedentary with negative calories allowed. With my Fitbit I had negative calories until I got enough steps. Apple watch starts me at zero, but often as I get more activity I go negative. Maybe disallow negative adjustments? Just odd! Lol
  • I've had a fitbit and now have the watch: Fitbit pros:. Does fitness well, and the competitions can be fun! Doesn't go for the Swiss army knife approach so options are focused on fitness, which they nail. Good integration with mfp. Fitbit cons:. Limited functionality. Like i would love to put in intervals for running vs…
  • I also just noticed my jog was cut off early...looks like from the map I lost a mile and a half from the activity. That's odd.....
  • Having an odd issue. I have my new watch set up with mfp and it seems to be ok, went for a two mile brush dogwalk and then a four mile jog/walk later. Apple watch have me credit for those, but a negative steps credit, so my total calories burned are low. That is odd to me,! Fitbit would have given me allot of calories for…
  • It is like the South Beach diet book, which eliminated some foods and allowed others. They said not to worry about how much, but then inside the book it would say be careful to eat too many avocados or nuts because they are high calorie. So which is it, unlimited or limited? At one point in time I just figured eating the…
  • Ahh yes, since we see obesity only affects the poor! What a ridiculous thing to say, as if poor people by nature are too lazy to cook healthy or too stupid to know better. Many people, especially in rural areas, don’t have access to transportation or live in a food desert so they don’t have ready access to healthy food.…
  • I've also heard that gluten sensitivities can make roseacea worsen...but to be honest I don't know how accurate that is. Could be worth exploring. Certain foods will trigger it, like red wine mentioned above, and spicy foods.
  • I used to have really pronounced rosacia, everyone kept asking me if I was blushing, or at best would ask if I got sunburned. I tried metrogel and some antibiotic that didn't do anything. It has really toned down though in last few years, and I'm not sure why. I ate badly before, especially things with red dye (I am…
  • You have to live, right? And as others said you can plan for a candy bar in your budget. Every body is different, when I was losing I plateaued a lot, and sometimes if I went wild at dinner (esp Indian food, my fav) it could break the plateau. I think it depends on how big a cheat you mean. A snickers bar, you should be…
  • Just to confirm, ACV = apple cider vinegar?
  • That was over twenty years ago and I didnt have my fitness pal back then, so I obviously can't answer that. But back then breakfast was an omelette with bacon, for lunch chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes or a Philly cheese steak, and often could scarf a dominos pizza by myself. I had a 30 inch waist and didn't work…
  • Canned sounds gross actually, lol. Fresh. I put a handful of fresh in the nutribullet with some frozen mixed berries and either vanilla yogurt (not unflavored, that's not pleasant) or vanilla almond milk. Both I usually add water to to make it liquid enough to drink. I use them as snacks, they are easy to make and tatse…
  • Kale or spinach work, they impact the color but not taste depending on how much ya add.
  • Why not blend? I do smoothies with fruit and veggies and use vanilla yogurt or almond milk....they taste good but I keep the fiber. Juicing seems wasteful given the loss of that fiber.
  • When I was younger I could have put away an entire large pizza away for dinner and not gain a lb. I wore small waist sizes, and didn't excercise at all. I was in college so I was active enough, walking to class or waiting tables, but the AMT of burgers and beers and pizza and whatnot I ate and drank was very highly…
  • My comment on weighing struck a wrong chord and actually didn't make sense in context. In terms of WW they do a lot of mystery behind their points to force you to be in the program to work the magic. So to the poster upthread, completely agree. They do that so you have to pay to access the abikity to count points. For the…
  • I share the concern here, but my husband is on it and has already lost six lbs. BUT he is doing it sensibly and not gorging on a can of Beans or a stack of chicken breast for lunch. And let's be honest, anyone doing that and surprised they put on weight is clueless. I'm doing CICO and I also cook our dinners. He eats a…
  • I use mini moos. They are little packages of ultra pasteurized cream
  • I would avoid any supplements without talking to your doctor. I had a friend who took them, was very 'hippy', and I kept finding really bad side effects from some of them with limited benefits. A lot of the stuff you find online is be very cautious about without talking to a real doctor or certified nutritionist. Now just…
  • Just don't worry about it. Enjoy yourself and treat it as a one off. By all means don't weigh items and log, it winds up putting focus on you and will likely stress you out. So don't go crazy and eat a pizza, but also don't go crazy and make yourself miserable by denying yourself, or being 'that' person who weighs and…
  • Ok I screwed up my last post, but what I do when shopping is I pull the cart with my right hand, so the cart is behind me, so my left hand can swing. That helps me shop and get steps. No kids, so no tips for a stroller, since that obviously wouldn't work to pull a stroller.
  • I think mine is open, i am for a about 1900 calories, feel free to look around
