Lol at logging driving. I’m gonna log lifting my beer and crisps to my mouth while watching the England match this afternoon.

Haha I know what you mean, you have to be careful with kids.. What would u suggest if he was 18? If u tell us that, we can try it, but you won’t have to feel guilty if he dies or something. Hahaha.
-
Sorry, meant to add he will do the treadmill session once per week over the summer. Like on a Wednesday or something so he is rested ready for parkrun on Saturday. He wants to get to sub 20 by the end of the summer.

Thank you.

Lol, hehe I could call it grey worm like the unsullied commander.
-
Hmm, u mean like smokey kitten or something? I think that works, I will try that on them in the morning.

Here is a pic so we know what we are talking about?

Well I took him with me and the little fecker beat me again. I managed 55mins dead and he was about 30 seconds ahead. I feel a bit sore but he is fine and has gone out to play football with his buddies. I feel a bit daft for thinking it might be too much for him.

Hey, not sure if any of you guys are still following this but I have another question. I have taken my son on a couple of 5k rubs with me recently. He is 10 I took him when I was doing it in a 28 mins a month or so ago and he beat me easily. He said I was so slow he was bored. I took him again on Friday and I did it 25…

It's a taboo slang word for urine, lol.

Haha my logic does sound a bit flawed when I read it back. I love running 5k, it's just an ideal distance for me. But I also want to see some improvement from the effort I put it. As you guys are saying running lots of 5ks will not get me better at running 5k then this will just lead to me being disheartened and give up.…

I have just had am amazing idea. And thank you all for helping me get there. My problem was that I enjoyed running 5ks but u guys said that to get good at 5k, then I need to regularly run a lot more than 5k. This was a problem because I didn't want to allocate too much time to running to the detriment of my weight training…

Why do runners swap randomly from miles to km? 'if youwant to run a 5k at 4mins per km, then you need to run 30miles, per week with a slow run of at least 10miles at 8 feet 7 inches per second,' said the runner trying to use as many different measurement units as possible in a single sentence, lmao.
-
Lol, yes I agree with that. I'll be happy to break 25 mins so I won't be trying to match him once we set off. I meant I'll drive there with him and line up with him at the start and them see him at the end. He's such a bastid, he hardly trains, eats crap all the time but looks like an althlete and can run like mo farah. I…

Hey all, thanks for all the responses. I wore an Apple Watch for a soccer game once and it said I ran almost 10k over the 90 mins. But that's a real mix of walking, jogging, sprints, and then jumping, twisting, turning shooting etc. So it's very different to normal running. I think I may forget the idea of racing 5k…

Also I took your other advice and signed up for a race. It's a local park run that does timed runs every Saturday morning. I have signed up and am doing it next Saturday with my 18min 5k soccer buddy. Well, when I say with him I'll start with him and see him at the end if he waits for me. Lol.
-
Hey everyone thanks for all the replies. They really do help. I took your advice and did a longer run today. I ran 10k so double my usual distance. I had to slow it down a bit as I got a bit tired so I only managed 55 mins. It was really odd but it seemed to get easier after the first 5k, I kinda relaxed and felt like I…

Wow, do you have a before and after pic?

Lol. And thanks for your help in the post before that. It seems like I could just about manage to bench press in there, but it will be a tight squeeze. I guess I could squat and do rack pulls, rows inside the cage, and even oh press is I use dumbbells. and I can bench sticking out a bit as you say. Hmm, I think I'll order…

Hey, thanks for your help. Yeah it's a separate room with 4 walls and a door. It's currently my sons walk in toy cupboard, but he doesn't play with his toys anymore so I'm claiming it. It does have roof windows, so not quite Harry Potter like, lol. Are your husbands feet more than6 feet off the end? And is your power rack…
-
Bloody hell that thing is massive. I haven't bought a rack yet. But I've seen a few that are roughly 4 ft square. Like the rouge r4 for example.
-
If you could measure and tell me what kind of rack you have that would be grand. I can bench press in just over 4ft if I push my bench right up against the wall but that won't be possible with a rack and barbell as I'll have to come forward to line up with the rear posts.
-
I have 12' the other way so getting plates on will be fine. The 5'6 dimension is from front to back, ie the way I'll be lying for bench press.
-
The room is 5'6 by 12' so I have plenty of width for the bar. I want to know if 5'6 from front to back is enough room to bench press without my legs or feet banging against the wall.
-
^^^ that's a link by the way - just in case its not obvious.
