Thanks so much for the advice:) and congratulations on the weight loss!! Very sensible plan and I think i will benefit from adapting that strategy as well. Therapy definitely wouldn't be a bad idea to see why I emotional eat... I can see that I cope with my stressful job a lot by eating... Managing that might help for…

Yes I really took in this post!! Very doable advice:) and congrats on the weight loss!!!! That is amazing!!

I agree!!

She did not recommend no carbs..she recommended Lower carbs than I was currently eating.. I mentioned that I did not eat carbs last week but that was my choice not her advice! I agreed I didn't do everything right in regards to eating last week which is why I asked for advice. She took a look at my weekly intake and…

Thank you! I don't know why I feel I am needing to defend what I am doing? I really thought I was doing this the right way and I don't have any intention on offending anyone that thinks I am looking for a quick fix. Not it at all!! Although those that do have that issue can benefit greatly from your passionate posts!!…

I agree! I did not seek out the medication it was recommended that i try it as a jumping off point to help get myself under control with eating in moderation. I intend to use it as such and nothing more. I don't care about the lbs or how long it takes to get the weight off.. As long as I am healthy getting there. I am…

Also I didn't ask her about the ratio. I just saw that this morning on my home page and was curious how it worked and what was a good ratio. I will absolutely ask her at next weeks visit though:)

My primary care physician recommended me to this doctor. She is an MD with a medical practice not weight loss clinic. She was originally a cardiologist but wanted to help the problem before it became a huge problem kind of thing. So she sees all kinds of people for a variety of different things but she specializes in…

Very very very helpful! Thank you! I will absolutely keep this in mind moving forward.

I am not concerned with my scale.. Lbs come and go.. What I am looking for is fat loss, not wearing a size 16 jeans and definitely not huffing and puffing going up the stairs.. Lol!! I just want to be healthy for my body not someone else's. I have a thick frame anyway and before kids I weighed in at 160 and was very thin…

Please let me clarify! I do not have ANY intention of taking suppressants for more than 3 weeks more .. Let alone the rest of my life! I am using it as a tool to get myself on a path that I can sustain. Which is why I wrote the post asking suggestions. This is not something I want to do incorrectly and then be back where I…

I will report also happyfeetrebel1! I have been on this site all morning and now I am all pumped to go get something now.. Lol I may just do that instead of waiting a week! Lol Dancingmoosie I have a gym in town but I live out and with three little ones and a needy husband I don't know if I can get away long enough to work…

I probably need to clarify that on my highest caloric day I ate 800 calories .. Day 1 and 2 were more like 550. I see now where I went wrong and I know it was just an adjustment to the suppressant so I will be striving to get that 1200 in from now on! Causing my body to go into starvation mode is NOT what I am going for!…

That's a good idea to have a bone scan just to be more familiar with my body. Thanks! The physician I am seeing is an MD , the staff said she was originally a cardiologist and she decided to open a general practice and focus on weight loss. Hitting the problem before it becomes a problem kinda thing. My primary care…

That is awesome advice! Thank you! This makes total sense. The first day I had energy because of the medication but I noticed after day 3 up until now I have been tired, but a different kind of tired.. Sluggish I could say. Not getting enough fuel for my body makes perfect sense to the cause of that!! Understanding how…

When I see fats I am thinking canola oil and fried foods!! Definitely need to educate myself on healthy fats!! I love avocados!! Thanks for the advice

T Thank you:) I Agree one week is not a sufficient amount of time to judge the success:) I really want this to be the last time I have to lose weight!

I was wondering why when I click on it I didn't see anything regarding muscle..

58 lbs is a lot but I have given myself a year to reach this goal. I have discussed this goal with my doctor as well, she prescribed the appetite suppressant because I tend to constantly be eating. All day while I am at my desk I am snaking and I eat so fast that before I know it I have finished an entire meal before…

She has this scale in her office that prints out a bunch of stats. My weight and I am guessing fat percentage and muscle percentage. When I started the program last week I had a full work up- ekg and labs. Everything looked good. She compared the first printout to my one week checkup and told me I had lost 7 lbs but 4 lbs…

She is an MD. Originally a cardiologist but from what I have been told she now just focuses on general health and weight loss.

That's awesome thanks! I believe the reason my doctor wanted to raise my protein was because I had lost muscle this week. I am sure once I start exercising and building muscle I will not have to eat such a high protein amount. I'm guessing- haven't discussed this with the doc.

Thanks so much! I had thought about that!
