Not sure what machine you are using, but I know my scale is wildly inaccurate. I have a BMI of 19.5, four defined visible abs (next two are starting to show), and my scale puts me at 25% body fat. It just isn't accurate. With that being said, it is possible (and happens quite frequently) to have a normal weight per BMI and…

I can definitely do cottage cheese, plus it has a good amount of protein which is always a plus!

I had no idea, but I love tofu! So this is great!

Thank you!

I bought this a couple weeks ago for a soup recipe so I will try it on other things also. Thank you!

Soy sauce is a great idea! I don't know why I didn't think of that before. I'll definitely be making some yummy stir fry this week.

I cannot stand the taste of olives - are some less harsh on the palate? I am not a fan of pickles either, but maybe I can try them again and learn to like the taste because that would definitely help me with my sodium intake without a ton of calories. Thank you for the advice!

How are you determining body fat percentage? If it's from a scale, it isn't accurate and I wouldn't give it too much thought. I have lost 70 lbs, am now 5'4", 112 lbs with visible abs and my scale has changed form 33% body fat at my highest to 25% now. It just isn't accurate.

Had my appointment today, discussed my concerns. All of my bloodwork and vital signs came back normal, I'm completely healthy. And I'm going to focus on maintaining instead of losing more weight. Both my doctor and I are happy :)

What are you planning on doing with the information? Are you going to change something? You are already losing a significant amount of weight. If nothing you do is going to change then I would personally just wait and have your A1C checked again in a month like you said. No point in spending money and poking yourself if it…

While scary, I think your post has been really good for me to read. I'm struggling, just trying to lose "the last couple lbs." I have a healthy BMI (19.9), but I still feel I need to lose more weight. I work out 5 or 6 days a week. I don't eat enough to be considered healthy. So many people have told me they are concerned…

That's a great idea! I was around 10 hours into my shift at work so had been on my feet all day. I'll measure tomorrow morning and see what I get. Thanks!
-
I had to have been measured wrong over a decade ago, and I haven't been measured since. Every time I have a doctors appt they ask my height and I've always said 5'5 because it was the last height I was measured at. But no one has ever rechecked because, as you said, I should know my height lol.

I'm 27 years old, I hope I'm not shrinking too much yet!
-
Lol I'm definitely still in the shocked stage. And it's humorous because I started receiving "you're too skinny" comments right when I got to the "healthy" weight range, but really I was still overweight lol. I'll be looking up your post!

Vanity sizing refers to the change in size of clothing over time, and the thought that people are more likely to buy clothing and feel good about themselves when the size is a smaller number, regardless of their body size. Vanity sizing has changed pants sizes, for example what used to be a size 6 is now a size 0 at some…

And this isn't even taking into consideration the larger initial weight people lose when starting a diet. OP may very well have her weight loss slow down now as she is probably creating less of a deficit than that. If the first two weeks weren't included it would give a better picture of her current eating deficit.

There are definitely people who will never be happy, and sometimes I feel that way about myself. What has made me realize the amount of weight I have lost is getting new clothes that actually fit. I tried a new pair of pants the other day and exclaimed to my husband that they made me look skinny. His response was, "Of…

I am 5'5 and have went from 160 lbs to my current weight of 116 lbs. Many will say that exercise is for fitness not weight loss, but exercise has been a huge help in my weight loss. For me, being at the lower end of a healthy weight and trying to lose weight leaves me with a small amount of calories I can eat per day.…

I really enjoy vanilla oat milk creamer. I drink it in either iced coffee or cold brew, 1-2 tsp per 16 oz of coffee. Do you drink hot coffee? If you like cold coffee, you shoupd try cold brew as it isn't as bitter as hot coffee. I used to use a lot more creamer but have slowly transitioned to using less.

Everyone is different, and everyone's recovery is different. I would expect a longer recovery than your doctor mentioned, but would take it day by day. If you can exercise after a few days, great! If it's a few weeks, that's okay too. I was cleared to exercise as soon as I felt up to it after childbirth. I was walking on a…

I completely support you and it sounds like you are being healthy which is obviously important. You got this! I feel a lot better after losing weight, hopefully you experience this as well

I had thought my running was better when I was thinner...runners are notorious for wanting to be thin for performance reasons...however, also at high risk for the female athlete triad. I found being at 142 was just fine for me as far as weight goes...I built up muscle and my performance was still great.[/quote] I'm glad we…

I guess I relate to OP because I lost weight in the upper half of my body before my lower. My reasoning for weight loss is purely sports performance, hopefully OP will give some more information. I could be healthy at 20 lbs heavier, but for me, I feel 100 times better at this lower weight. My running distance and speed…

I guess we don't know what OPs "set point weight" is though.
-
Many people are here, on this app, because their "set point weight" is 100s of lbs over a healthy weight. I don't believe in the whole "set point weight." Your body weight is a reflection of CICO. If I ate everything I wanted everyday I would be overweight.

You are entitled to an opinion just as much as I am. We both agree that there are many things to focus on besides the number on the scale, but everyone who maintains at the low end of healthy does not obsess over exercising or their weight. My point is that having (or achieving) a goal weight at the lower end of the…
