I found that too when I had lots more protein in my diet, i've since added more carbs/less protein and find my energy levels alot better

I *never* used to be a morning person.. I got into a habit of going to the gym in the morning before work, now I would much rather get up early than sleep in, I find it wakes you up alot more, gets you more motivated throughout the day :smile: just feel better in general.

yes! thaat's how I felt doing low carb, constantly peckish and that 'empty' feeling.. no more low carb lol

I did it for a while.. it was ok .. I feel better now that im following consistent macros though. I found that all the protein was making my sodium levels quite high during carb cycling. I put on a bit of water weight from it, now that iv stopped I feel better, not so heavy .. but its different for everyone :smile:

Yeah I haven't been using my HRM lately, I just wore it a couple of times to see what kind of reading it gave :) I stick to my calories that IIFYM calculator gave me, though some days you are just that a bit hungrier :wink: .

here's another question for you lifters I've used a heart rate monitor to check calories burnt during lifting, I know that they aren't 100% accurate, but I would assume a solid lifting session (60 minutes) would burn roughly 300-400 cals .. Would you definitely eat these exercise calories back or just meet your daily…

I dont really have time for a proper meal before I get to the gym in the morn, been thinking about some sort of carby shake .. any one do this ?

Yeah I only lift fasted because I get up and head straight to the gym then go to work and then have breakfast which is oats etc :smile: I have noticed though a snack can give a bit of an energy boost, usually some fruit or some peanut butter :smiley:

Also i just felt like I was eating sooo much protein and it was making my sodium levels quite high compared to now where they're quite low !

I just finished a cycle. I liked it but also really started missing certain foods on the low carb days. Im now much more satisfied being able to have more fruit/vegetables daily.. but carb cycling is def worth a go :)

Do you guys think it really matters if you go by raw or cooked? I just go by the weight of whatever im about to eat & how it is prepared right then and there :S

Yep I weigh everything :smile: I've been entering it as the correct brand which is Steggles chicken breast, it comes up as 110 calories for 100g which i assume is the raw weight. I always weigh my chicken after it's cooked though :sweat: I found an entry last night which even says verified under "Chicken breast - meat only…
