Measuring and weighing are two completely different things. A tablespoon of peanut butter isn't the same as an ounce of peanut butter. I'd get a food scale, and measure that way rather than measuring cups.

Well after I hit my 12 pound mark, they did ask to auto down it, but I didn't want to lose 2 pounds per week anymore, because I needed a tiny break. I figured 1.5 pounds would give me just enough of a break while still being strict. I just didn't expect it to jump like that, to me it seems like a big jump, but when you…

12 pounds down, and after battling weight issues for years I'm feeling a little smug. But I got a ton more to go!

I guess it just seems like a lot because I'm so used to my 1540, lol, those calories seem like gold right now.

That stuff made me sick for three weeks. It's not worth it.

I'm a FTM, though I set myself to female because of my body type. Nice to meet you. :3

Thanks everyone, your comments really helped me feel a bit better.

If I'm on a "I love food" day, I make my food pretty. Dress your plate, dress your food. For example my sandwich today was cut into triangles, on one of the fancy china plates with a side of 1oz Doritos and fresh mozzarella. I took my time to make my food filling (adding tomato, lettuce to my sandwhich to bulk it up…

Every Saturday I let myself have 100-200 more calories, no more than that though. If I binge and eat all day like I'd want to, I'd fall back way too far to recover.

It depends on your body and what it's telling you. I'm 270 pounds currently, and I do 30 minutes of low intensity cardio 4 days a week, and 7 pound weight training once a week.

It literally translates to "Raccoon Dog." which are my two favorite animals.

I'm gonna lose 100+ pounds, I'd love to be your friend and work at it with you!

I've lost 4 pounds in a week just using this app alone. It helps you realize what you're eating, how much, and the quality of your food as well as your exercise. I've seen people lose over 100 pounds on this app alone!

At the advice of my doctor, no I don't. I'm a 5ft6 274 (4 pounds down!) female bodied person. So I'm considered morbidly obese. I saw my doctor before starting myfitnesspal to get some general diet advice, and she told me I don't, and shouldn't need to eat back my exercise calories. Every once in a while I'll "snack" from…

Exercise, exercise, and more exercise. Whenever I get bummed out, I clean my entire house, do some pushups, or take the dog for a good long walk. It avoids emotional eating and I feel great after. If you're having a small snack craving, brush your teeth. No one wants a big brownie after they're minty fresh!

My favorite cheat meal is wings from my favorite bar, along with a white russian to drink with 'em.

First of all, breath, it's okay! We don't need all these fancy gadgets and such to lose weight, all we need is determination and a steady diet. Maybe see your doctor if you're not losing weight? Are you healthy, thyroid issues, etc etc? Relax, get back to the simple basics, track your food, and LET YOURSELF ENJOY YOUR…

My fiancee is a stick compared to me, so he needs to GAIN weight. Thanks to that, we have plenty of tempting foods in the house and lord knows I've stuck my nose in the cookie jar. If you're worried about tempting foods, then rearrange some things. I use my laziness against me, I know I won't go hunting for food, I'd…

Were human, and as humans we want what makes us feel good! Sometimes that's food! I go over every now and again, and so do people who've lost ten, twenty, a hundred pounds. Just hop back on tomorrow and keep moving. In fact, feel proud that you came here instead of giving up, you'e doing great!

For months I've been terrified to get on the scale. Take a deep breath, and know that everyones here to hold your hand no matter what that number is.

Wow, I've never seen so much support in one place! I think you're all right, if I start slow and make little changes rather than looking at it as one giant thing I'll be able to do it. I'm definitely going to join a few groups here and get more involved in the community.

Thank you so much everyone. I'm really determined to do this, even if its in one small step at a time.
