How did you come up with these numbers! What formula did you use? I’m just getting started on carb cycling and was wondering how this is calculated. Thanks :)

Hi, I see you’re doing carb cycling. Can I’m interested in it, but find that there are many ways to calculate high and low calorie days and I’m not sure which one is right. Do you follow a specific formula for calculating your high and low carb days? If so, would you be willing to share it? Also, you mention Vshred. How do…

@jm216 I’d love to join you guys. I cleaned up my eating over the last 6 weeks and now I’m ready to ease into exercise. I love walking, but with over 3ft of snow on the ground, I’m starting with indoor walks on my treadmill. My goal is to walk every day while watching one episode of my ‘guilty pleasure’ shows which are…

Hello ladies. I’ve been here before a few years back, achieved my goal and ‘sat on the laurels’. Managed to keep my ideal weight for about two years and slipped back (+10lb) over the last 2 years. My goal is to swap some old habits for new ones. 1 watch my favourite shows while walking on the treadmill not sitting on the…

Hello All Just found your thread and I love it! So inspirational! A few words about me: 3 years ago I reached all my goals and was in the best shape Of my life. Kept it up for two years and slowly started falling off the wagon. Now a year later I’m ready to pull in the rains and get back in shape. I want to reach my goals…

Hi Pam, I’m not Primal, but since I got my Instan Pot we eat more meat and veggies :) You won’t find cheetos on my profile, but I do make my own bread, so occasional sandwich will be gracing my log... (if you have a recipe for primal bread made in a breadmaker, I’d be happy to try it

Would love to join you :).

I love the suggestions and your positivity! You are AWESOME! Keep it coming... Thank you :)

That's exactly what I'm doing with the food that has not been opened.
-
Thank you for your encouragement! We have cut out most processed foods last year. We've enjoyed the transition and have been happy with the changes. Reading about all the benefits of primal way of eating seems like a very logical and even more healthy next step. And so here we are :) But you're right - I'm not about to…

No junk food. We don't eat that anyway. But things like pasta, lentils, potatoes, peanut butter, beans and some other grains that I have already opened and used. The food that I haven't opened yet (bags, boxes or cans) I packed up and will drop off at our local food cupboard for those in need. I feel better doing that then…

I love this thread. Just researching and trying out the paleo way of living. Having hard time giving up bread, the other carb loaded foods I can do without, no problem... Would love to join your guys on your journey. Please add me to your friend list :)

Hi, I'm very new to paleo and just starting out trying to cut out grains and bread as much as I can. I'd be happy to be your "accountability partner". Maybe it will help us both stick to our plan. If you're interested, add me to your friends or send me a PM

I just started 30 day shred about a week ago and I like it a lot. It's only 20 minutes a day and I do it 3-4 times a week. Great addition to my 3x a week runs.
-
Good point. Thank you for the suggestion :)

I like your point about eating when you are hungry and not out of habit. The only thing I'm worried about is, if I get hungry between 7:30 - 9:15 and won't be able to eat until my break... But I guess I could try it. And just out of curiosity... why does you day go better if you eat later? Does it have to do with how you…

So do my kids. They get to take one treat to school every day and we all have a treat after dinner. :) Everything in moderation...

Love the picture. You made me smile :)

That's an interesting idea :) I've brought chocolate treats to food bank before, but interestingly, they're not too keen on accepting it. Funny, huh?...
-
You know, someone else suggested that to me as well. I think I might just do that and leave it open in the staff room for all to enjoy.
-
Thank you. I really like how you look at a range and not just a number. I'm glad you shared your personal experience with me. And I appreciate your note about portions. I agree with you and I do my best to stay true to the portions. I mentioned before that I don't weigh my food, so yes, there is a wiggle room when it comes…

Assumptions... Assumptions... You know what they say happens when you assume... I can't help, but laugh...

I have the caliper. I've only done the 1-point mentor. And in my case, the measurements are most certainly lower than they used to be. So those results speak for themselves. As for DEXA - I'm not an athlete and it's just not that important to me, to go and spend money just to know that one number :) Thank you :)

Now your criticism, I appreciate :) You are not being condescending or judgmental. Somehow this thread evolved from a simple question to a major discussion about my physical and mental health. I appreciate advise from those who, obviously, are on the same journey as I am (getting fit and healthy) and I am happy to consider…
