  • I just don't really try to eat back my calories. I just aim for 1300ish and go with that. I did plateau for a few weeks before I started seeing a dietician. Maybe try that?
  • I have the same problem when I break character in my new lifestyle. It's actually a nice reminder. I started seeing a dietician and asked her to recommend healthy (or heathier at least) alternatives to a couple of my very favorite foods. It's worth trying out. I.e., I love brownies... She emailed me a recipe for black bean…
  • I think what makes it not balanced as compared to a meal containing same calories is the lack of additional nutrients; for example fiber, iron, potassium, vitamin a, b, c, d etc. But it also sounds like there's a difference between a straight protein powder and water mix shake and a shake that includes both food and…
  • Love Greek yogurt. Chobani or muller have 100 calories packs. Really yummy! Baby carrots. Rice cakes with fresh ground peanut butter or avocado. Cottage cheese with fruit preserves or if you like savory with cherry tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. You could probably even snack with dry cereal like Kashi or Fiber One.
  • I'd guess around $400 for just myself.
  • OOooh! That sounds really yummy! I think I need to start eating cereal just for the iron. Cereals usually have a bunch of iron in them, I believe. I never have enough in my diet. :(
  • I drink insane amounts of tea because it's all super stocked at work. There are about ten different tea varieties. Mostly bigelow and a couple celestial. It's easy to keep drinking tea when you have instant hot water spouts everywhere!! My favorite is green tea but it's nice sometimes to mix a green tea with bigelow black…
  • I try to keep my meals at 300 cals each with three 100 calorie snacks. That's my goal at least. I haven't quite accomplished it but it helps to think about it in those terms. I keep lots of low cal snacks around. Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese. Baby carrots. And some yummy mix ins - no sugar added fruit preserves, muesli,…
  • I use iced green tea in my smoothies. I used to use yogurt or almond milk-- one day I ran out of both at work so I just threw in some iced green tea. It's great, adds antioxidants and a little caffeine boost and you'd never know it was green tea in there. My favorite is chocolate whey protein, fresh strawberries and…
  • I love sweet potato fries. Lately my obsession is definitely sorbetto. Blood orange, Alphonso mango, oh god... Wine flavored sorbets! Ugggggh! I can go straight through a pint in five minutes.

  • Hi all! Please add me! :) Looking to get into a better lifestyle and feel great! 30, NYC, looking to shed 40lbs but ultimately develop a healthy lifestyle so I can maintain and stop yoyo-ing.
  • I totally understand. I'm trying to do both. But the diet will never stick unless you make it a point to change unhealthy habits. All my life I've been raised to clear the plate no matter what and all kinds of terrible habits. Good luck! Hopefully we can all make the lifestyle change together!
  • Fell off the diet wagon over these cold winter months and trying to get back into a healthy lifestyle and weight loss swing. I started this app March 1. I was at 177 and my dream goal is 137. So 40 lbs. I set a mid point goal of 157 for May 15. I figure the second half will take longer though. It would be great to build a…
