It’s nice to not be alone! I’m 5’2 and 162 pounds (I’ve lost 12 since January!) and two things that have helped me greatly since I started this up again are not eating anything except black coffee before about 10 or 11. I also exercise first thing in the morning five days a week. If my first meal is at lunchtime, it gets…

I know it’s been a few days since this was posted, but one thing that has helped me when exercising is focusing on breathing through my belly. Take deep breaths that expand your belly, exhale contracting your belly. It’s kind of counter to what you naturally do as you’re panting while you’re exercising, but there are MANY…

So, my husband was in the Army and I purposely didn't want to make him feel like he was dieting because he definitely didn't need to be! I have always done low calorie breakfast, lunch, sometimes with an afternoon snack (if I can "afford" it), and then a pretty typical dinner. My dinner plates rarely look much different…

I have 3 Brita bottles (the kind that have the filter inside the bottle) and I'm in love with them. I change the filter about once every 3 or 4 months and honestly, the first bottle paid for itself in the first month. They are GREAT.

I was a size 16 (sigh) when I started. I wore 14 most of the time because I refused to buy 16s. I'm now in a 8-10. I still have about ten pounds left to lose to be "normal" according to bmi but I'm actually pretty happy where I am so I'm taking a break. I may start up again in the near future. We'll see.

This thread is so great! Sometimes, I think we all feel like people around us just don't get it but it's so nice to see a thread like this! My husband goes for "runs" with me. And by that, I mean he basically shuffles next to me while I run. He can easily run a 7 minute mile while I run closer to 13, but he still likes to…

I'm 5'2". SW 190, CW 145 GW 133. Basically, I was 173 when I started mfp and I just decided to lose 20 lbs which put me at 153. But those first ten came off so easily, I decided to try for an additional 20. I'm now at 12 lbs to goal and about to change my goal to .5 lbs per week loss. I figured I'd be happy at 150 and I…

So technically, I'm taking a calorie counting break. I've been totally burned out. BUT that doesn't mean going crazy, so tonight I went for a run and ran two and a quarter miles straight! Technically, I did stop to pet a puppy but didn't use it as an excuse to start walking! Had planned on two miles but instead went for a…

That's actually part of my problem! Haha If my husband thought I was fat and gross, I'd be way more motivated. But he's totally cool with whatever. He loved me fat and he loves me thin(ner). He doesn't care if I keep losing as long as I stay healthy. So in the back of my mind, there's this small voice like "well, it's…

You have a very good point. I might consider this. I try to work treats in daily so I don't feel deprived, but on 1210 cals a day, that's not always possible (at least not if I'd like to feel full). Maybe upping my cals is what I need. Great suggestion.

You've gotta love(/hate) those Oreos! They're an Achilles heel for me, for sure!
-
Thank you very much! I appreciate it more than I can say. But some days, I want that ice cream/Oreos/Mac and cheese so much I can hardly stand it and in those moments, the next 15~ pounds seem so much less important than deliciousness haha.

I agree with almost everyone on here- PRE-LOG! It's a lifesaver! I prelog every day and most days I can have a sweet snack either midday or after dinner. Also, if you find you've over eaten, go do some exercise. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, but a walk through your neighborhood. It'll help you burn the calories,…

Tried on my wedding dress from 2012. It was comically large on me now. I looked at the tag- size 18. To be fair, I believe I had to get it taken in a bit because I've never worn a size 18 pant and even size 16s weren't getting too snug but I currently wear a size 8!!!

My favorite way to do this is to find something I want, look it up online to get the count and if it fits, great. If not, I eat half. I usually can't eat the other half for lunch (my lunches tend to be very small) so I give it to my hubby. I'm satisfied usually and he's happy because he gets my leftovers. Win win.

I ran in my first 5k race tonight! No, I didn't run the whole time, only about 2 miles, but the fact that I signed up, didn't chicken out and finished is huge! :)

So I always thought I had fairly slim legs in terms of fat. They weren't fat, they were just muscular. But despite doing plenty of strength training and running to maintain muscle, I have lost several inches from my legs over my 25lb loss. I now realize that there WAS some fat hiding there and my legs are thinner than I…

I have seen a lot of people say on here that they do their in between shopping at thrift stores. Well, I got a second job yesterday (yay!) and need some more professional clothes so I went to Goodwill. Almost everything I bought was a medium! I bought two size 8 bottoms and one size 10 (I'm in between sizes)! I love this…

Yesterday, I ran 2.5 miles without stopping. Including my warm up and cool down walks, I completed a 5k in 46 minutes. I'm so pleased. A few months ago, running for more than 1/8 of a mile was almost impossible outside. Now I can run a mile regularly. On a treadmill, I couldn't run further than 1/2 a mile. Now, I'm running…

Well I'm not quite the stats you're looking for. When I started losing weight, I was 190 (or higher. I hadn't looked at a scale in awhile) and have since gotten down to 148. The before and after I have is from about 175-148 though. Here's one of my face at 190 and around now. I want to get down about another 15 lbs.

Today when I got home from work, I kept having to pull my work shorts up. Size 10. Bought them about three weeks ago. I have a pair of size 8 skinny jeans in my closet. They fit comfortably. A bit snug, but not uncomfortable at all. I think if they were a regular fit instead of low rise skinny jeans, the 8 would fit…

MFP does not factor in any exercise you do. You input that data yourself and eat back all or a portion of those calories. This calculator factors it in as a daily average. Frankly, I have been losing right on target using MFP's method, almost exactly one pound per week, which is exactly my goal, for the last five months.…

Exercise is more for fitness, including walking. You may need to restrict your calories a bit further than you normally would with your jogging, but if your doctor wants you at home, he or she probably has a good reason for wanting to keep you resting. In fact, you should probably discuss eating in a deficit with your…

I'm 5'2". CW 148, GW 135. My diary should be open and feel free to friend me. I run 3-5 days a week and recently started Stronglifts 5x5. I lose approximately a pound a week eating 1210 before exercise cals.

I ran my best run EVER this morning. Kind of on a whim, too. I was planning to go to the gym because it's been so humid but this morning it was nice so I decided to run outside. It was my furthest distance (OVER two miles), my best time and by FAR my best pace. Under 12 min/mile at some points! I couldn't believe my…

I got mine from Lane Bryant and love it. For me personally, the issue isn't so much support from underneath. I need compression specifically from above. I used to do Insanity and there was so much jumping and up and down movement that it hurt if I wasn't totally compressed. The Lane Bryant bra supports both from underneath…

I've run two miles straight the last two times I've gone out to run. Six months ago, I couldn't run for more than a few minutes (on the treadmill) and now I can run for over 20! I'm super slow but I've signed up for 2 5ks and I'm determined to run most, if not all of them! As for the helping someone else, I wouldn't say…

My favorites are: whole grain toast with either a boiled egg or some avocado and a bit of cheese (whatever I have on hand), and some bacon. With the ingredients I use, it usually comes out to approximately 200 cals and keeps me pretty full. Lately I've been getting a bit sick of that, so I've been having peanut butter…

Well, I almost finished my first challenge. I'll take it. 28.5/30. I accomplished a hell of a lot this month, though. Ran my first uninterrupted mile and my first uninterrupted two miles. I'm pleased. :) thanks for all the motivation guys!!

Yesterday, I did c25k week 7 day 1, where it wanted me to run for 25 minutes. Well, I run very slowly but I desperately wanted to make it to two miles on this run so I ran PAST the allotted time just to hit the two mile mark. It may have taken me 27 minutes but I've never run two miles straight in my LIFE! Hell, six months…
