  • I don’t know if anyone will see this as it’s 4 years later, but thought I’d comment with an update in case anyone is going through the same thing. I’ve been referred to a rheumatologist because the pain is progressing, comes and goes in “flares” and has started in both shoulders too. The doctor has put forward a couple of…

  • I was just wondering if anyone knew what could be the cause, or any foods or lifestyle habits that might stimulate appetite. Thanks for your time!
  • I probably will go see a doctor if I can't sort it out myself, but I'm just looking to see if I can find out what it is and what can help me fix it first. I always like to go to the doctor with some idea of what is wrong.
  • For about 2 years. I haven't lost any weight, which is surprising. I'm not here to gain weight - I'm happy with my weight - I just thought this would be the best part of the forum to find people who have experienced similar.
  • It's the same kind of repulsion you feel if you're so hungry that you feel a bit sick. But I just don't feel hungry. (or maybe I do but my brain just doesn't recognise it)
  • I don't think I meet the criteria for any kind of eating disorder because I'm not purposefully restricting my calorific intake to lose weight. It's just that my appetite is gone, and the thought of eating repulsed me in a similar way that you would be repulsed by the idea of food if you were full.
  • About how much my boobs have grown in the past week. Was an A cup, now bursting out of a B cup. They keep brushing against my inner arms and I'm like 'WOAH WAIT WHAT. BOOBS?'. I can't stop touching them, what is this.
  • If I was single and drunk, maybe. (Not supposed to be an insult - the only way I would kiss a stranger is if I was intoxicated.)
  • Refusing to buy bigger clothes is a great way of keeping motivated! I also hear that drinking a lot of water helps to speed up metabolism, so make use of the water option on here. I'm not on the same path as you, but you're welcome to add me.
  • Okay, thank you so much!

  • Would the pain like that be similar to a pulled muscle pain, though? When I push my thumb into the side of my hip, just behind my hip bone, it's really tender like how a pulled muscle feels when you massage it.

  • If you are losing more calories than you can eat, it would be wise to either do less of that exercise or do a different type of exercise. Before last week, I was only eating one meal a day (not quite sure how I'm still here, since I've never been above ~8 stone). Half of my problem before was that I was getting up in the…
  • Thank you! The worst thing about it is getting tearful with frustration because I can't do a lot of the exercises I'd like to, and even the ones I can do I have to do carefully. Glad to hear that it's probably not something serious though!

  • To give an idea of the location of the pain and when it hurts - lay down on your back and keeping your leg straight, lift it off the ground about a foot or so, then turn it in and out at the hip. That's absolutely excruciating for me, especially turning it inwards. It's definitely worse after sitting for a while. But I did…

  • Thanks for all the answers. I'll keep pestering my doctor.

  • Just had a quick Google of AVN - I hope it's not that, it sounds awful! D:

  • It's murder! Keeps me up at night and is a real pain when trying to get the willpower to exercise. Thanks for the tips - will look into it!

  • I was doing no exercise whatsoever when it started, which is what made me think it was the sedentary lifestyle. Went to the doctor after 2 months and did the stretches exactly as prescribed. And now I've started my current exercise regime. Yeah, I think I will visit le doctor. Was just wondering if anyone else has…

  • Skinny. Call me shallow, but I have itty bitty titties, and I couldn't handle a dude with bigger boobs than me.
  • All I can think of is 'scarf'.
  • I'd get through them so fast! I eat salad for lunch every day. Would love to be able to afford an avocado for each salad!

  • Leeks. I like the taste of them, but I choked on one when I was younger. Now, whenever I try to eat leek, my throat constricts, I gag, and I cannot swallow. Also, my multivitamins. Blehhh.
  • 20 minutes treadmill, alternating between 4 and 7. 20 minutes cycling machine. And a bunch of speed-walking between lectures and around the supermarket
  • I was unhealthily underweight about 5 years ago, and I found it really helped to just 'graze' throughout the day. Upping the carbs in your diet will also help.
  • Good luck to you both, AmandaLloyd712 and smar4vpm456! Really respect the fact that you're getting in shape before having kids!
  • Feel free to add me. Only joined yesterday, but pretty dedicated to my new fitness regime.
  • I'm doing 3 days in the gym per week; one day for upper body and cardio, one day for lower body and cardio, and the third day just for cardio. I'm also going swimming at least once a week, and doing a little yoga before bed some nights. Eating healthily on top of this, and getting 8+ hours of sleep per night.
  • Yep! Weight loss would help a lot. I have mild piriformis syndrome (a form of sciatica - the piriformis muscle is perforated by the sciatic nerve, and can press on the nerve causing a cramp-like sensation in the glute), and I've found that doing some light stretches helps a lot. The stretches you do depends on the type of…
