2 weeks will not do that. Long term starvation does that, as in years.

That's actually a lot of salt for one meal. You're not supposed to have more than 2300 mgs a day. But that's just my opinion.
-
Oooooh, I see. Well in that case, do you weigh your food? if not, you may not be losing much because you're eating more than you think.
-
While that is true, any doctor will tell you eating fast food on a regular basis, which is known for being high in salt and fat is not good for blood pressure or cholesterol. Common sense does dictate that eating it in moderation is totally ok but there are two issues: 1. fast food is STILL designed to be addicting. That…

Allergies don't make you gain or lose weight, too many calories do. I have food allergies myself and I have to avoid them, I have had anaphylaxis before. If you can't have milk, fruit and complex carbs, you still can include meats, fats like nut butters, seeds, olive oil, etc. Like, you can have a burger but wrap it in…

Salt, sugar and fat are the trifecta when it comes to why we love food that's so bad for us.

This is me except with junk food from the supermarket. This week, I just decided to stop buying it altogether because it does me no good to have it around.
-
I had a heart procedure and could not exercise for 6 weeks. I had an ablation so my chest would hurt and I was sooo exhausted that I couldn't do anything. If you cannot exercise, just eat at a deficit.

Has anyone thought that maybe the OP can't afford the dr visits required to see a dietitian? A lot of health plans have premiums, co-pays and deductibles. It could be the dr's visits are covered but dietitian's are not, or the co-pay is too large to go frequently to the dietitian.

No. It's called food allergies. IDGAF about using animals for food. I have to largely eat vegan due to lactose intolerance and egg allergies. And I grew up with meat and hate the texture and taste of it.
-
I have the same scale and I agree. It's very consistent and accurate.

There are some supermodels out there who are drastically underweight but because they are also very small boned, they don't have bones sticking out everywhere. Vlada R is an example of this. And she's a giant compared to the OP! The OP may be 108 lbs but even 100 lbs is still a healthy bmi and other than wanting to lose…
-
All the op has said is that she gained 3kg and wants to lose it. That's not the same as losing lots of weight to the point of being emaciated or whatever.
-
It's not a valid concern. anorexics have an intense fear of gaining weight. it is a mental illness. all the op said is that she's put on a few pounds and wants to know why. She has never said anything about wanting to be underweight or anything indicating an eating disorder.

Welcome to the club, lol! I have hyper-POTS [it's the kind that causes too much adrenaline so my bp is often high instead of normal or low like a lot of POTSies]. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to PM me. I've had it for about ten years now.
-
Hey, glad you got answers. I have POTS and heart problems too [AVNRT/ventricular tachycardia], so I know how you feel. I gotta take meds the rest of my life and even then, I still end up in hospital sometimes. Good luck to you.

I don't know what kind of dips the OP is eating, but salsa dip is pretty low calorie.
-
I feel like this applies to almost every thread where posters say they can't lose weight.
-
Yeah but it's about volume....
-
Ripped up taco shells! I like chips and salsa too. Or tortilla strips instead of tortilla chips.
-
In three months, I want to be 15 lbs down. I'm 5'7" and around 164, blech.
-
Right, but at some point you must have been eating too much if you're here at MFP trying to lose weight. You don't gain weight unless you're eating a surprlus of calories, barring certain medical conditions.
-
if you rarely get hungry or didn't overeat, then you wouldn't have gained weight.....
-
No, your tone is indeed a little rude. You asking why I didn't respond to you and I told you why, and yet you continue to go on about previous posts that have little to do with the original OP's issue. This thread isn't about me, or you or whatever. OP asked for help, and she got some responses. So hopefully she will be a…
-
Um, actually I did want to reply to you. I chose not to because the thread is not about me and I don't want to de-rail it. Also, a previous poster pretty much summed up my thoughts about adaptive thermogenesis. I'm not the OP but yes, I am. Because calories in < calories out = success. You don't have to be so rude.

As part of a neuroatypical child, thank you. My son is on the spectrum. He's the light of my life and I will never give him supplements or anything that claims to "cure" autism. Like, that is a neurological thing and you can modify behaviors with operant conditioning, but in the end, autism is something you will have for…

Food allergies don't hinder weight loss. I should know, I have them myself. It succcccks.
-
I repeat, I bet it's the OP not being accurate. First she said she uses a food scale for some things, then she says she uses a food scale and measuring cups. OP, just weigh and measuring EVERYTHING for a week or two and see how it goes.
-
Tha makes zero sense. If metabolic adaption existed the way you say it does [I believe in it, but in a different way], then how do anorexics end up with bmi's of 11 and 12?
-
This is a prescribed, regulated drug, correct? if so, what's wrong with that? It's not like the OP is shilling a MLM product or something. The only potential issue I see is that it won't teach you to eat properly long time. You can't take a drug like that the rest of your life so you will need to find balance when it comes…
