No need to do that the system will avoid double counting

It seems a bit harder to lose weight when we are more mature but, like everything else, it just takes persistence.

I'd also be inclined to think the lower number is more useful. If you truly on the higher one it might give you leeway to slacken your resolve

That sounds like a good idea. I never had the 24 hour monitor bt remember the dread of seeing the high sugar levels just after I'd eaten something I knew was bad for me - too late I'd had it and no amount of exercise was going to 'uneat' it, and as they say "you can't outrun a bad diet"

This has already started in teh US and UK. For the first time the life expectancy of the younger groups has fallen by 2 years or so

As the others have said it sounds as if you are getting unpleasant sensations because of diabetic neuropathy. This starts in the furthest away, from the middle, part of your body - so usually the hands and feet. Aim at getting you sugars down, and your weight too, and these will hopefully lessen. I found a low carb diet…

I lost 3 when I got my diabetes diagnosis. It can be done and you'll feel so much better after it.

This group seems to have gone very quiet ? Are folk lurking ?

As a farmer I am going to use your friends logic on my sheep - I can feed them 1kg of rations and get 4kg of meat - hurray. For my next trick I am going to create a perpetual motion engine.

Just started jogging again. I forgot how much I dislike it. I'll have to try and find a podcast to keep my spirits up while I do it

When I was strict on the lchf I was and to get normal bg and off meds for a year and a half. But I slipped and now am in a halfway house of needing metformin to keep my bloods satisfactiry

At least it is resurrecting an old scare and not giving us a brand new one to fret about - small mercies !

I think I will be giving that a miss

Give it time and don't fret. Don't want to swithc one problem for another. Whenever I get stuck and the weight is not shifting it normally turns out that my measuring was wrong - unfortunately not my weight but my foodstuffs :(
-
Just keep at it. I have failed in the past but I am now doing not too bad. Don't focus on having not managed in the past bu think how you will do it this time around.

I have managed to get myself from the diabetic range (on metformin qds) to the prediabetic range (on no medication) byt diet (LCHF). Still have to watch my diet and weight but happy to be med free

I alternate between MFP and diabetes:m. The latter is good for graphs and reports, it is fair for diet but poor for exercise (though it does sync with google fit). I also found MyNetDiary quite good.

OK - Added

Because it is the season; pan fried pheasant breast with red cabbage (Must remember to watch out for pellets!)
