  • I make a few different things for breakfast and still stay in ketosis Mixed berries with full fat Greek yogurt and toasted nuts and seeds on top Smoked salmon / smoked mackerel A 'muesli' made from seeds, nuts, coconut flakes and almond milk 2 minute English muffin recipe with lashings of butter and a smidge of sugar free…
  • I've stopped tracking anything - it was making me think about food too much and I am trying to eat more intuitively - I found tracking to be counter productive for that. I'm still losing so seem to be doing ok. Feel free to add me
  • My NSV today is that I had a really stressy, rubbish day and did not five head first into a vat of baked goods. I'm actually trying to deal with issues instead of burying them under food.

  • He did ask me if there was rheumatoid arthritis in my family history (there's not). No other then thyroid function he tested my liver / kidney function Vitamin Full Blood count (not sure if that shows antibodies?) Electrolytes B12 Hba1C Everything else was in range. The ESR range was given as 1-14 so not too far out. CRP…
  • So finally got my blood results today TSH 0.88 T4 14.9 But 2 raised inflammation markers CRP - 20 ESR - 21 No explanation except 'could have been a virus' Due to retest bloods in 2 weeks and if still raised, will do further investigation.
  • That's exactly why I stopped - I was just eating breakfast / lunch / dinner regardless of hunger, just habit!! I've always struggled with thinking about what my next meal will be - I'm still very much a work in progress but now I feel confident that I've got the hang of my macro's I am trying to work on the hunger cues…
  • I use that brand and add a small amount of lemon extract, liquid stevia and have it with raspberries. I also sometimes have it with vanilla extract, liquid stevia and berries and then too it with mixed nuts, seeds and coconut.
  • I don't bother logging anymore as it was making me food obssess but happy to be added as a friend to offer support
  • Another one for you http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/2015/04/23/fat-head-pizza/ The dough is made from mozzarella and it is really good!! and holds together so you can pick it up which is always a bonus! Hands down the best low carb pizza I have tried. Although it is thin crust.
  • Well my dr would not discuss my results over the phone but told me they needed to see me but not to be alarmed. Appt thurs morning so will see what they say! Thank you all for your advice, knowledge and experiences. I've actually been fine - the muscle aches went after about a week and my heart rate back to normal - have…
  • There are some ideas there that would never have occurred to me (pizza just eating topping - genius!!) I am trying very hard to be organised (hard boiling eggs etc..) So I have easy to grab stuff. To be honest, I've always been a bit chaotic and that needs to be worked on in all areas of my life, not just the food!! Funny…
  • Oh and congratulations!!!
  • @FatMomma89 - I'm a low carb breastfeeder as knitormiss mentioned. Sorry I took so long to respond but I had no phone for a bit due to my 2 year old dunking it into a glass of water!! My baby is 5 months now and is thriving and I'm losing weight. I've been keto since before pregnancy, wavered back and forth during and back…
  • You are way more organised then me!!! I dream of one day having my life together enough to have a food prep day but that day is not today!! :D
  • The only thing I hate, or rather what I miss - is the convenience. It's Convenient to just pop a couple slices of bread in a toaster or pour some cereal in a bowl. It's convenient to whack something between 2 slices of bread for lunch. It's convenient to just grab something from a shop. I have to think / plan more and if I…
  • Always happy to have more friends to learn from and support / be supported by - I don't log at the moment though as was finding myself too focussed on food!!
  • Easiest mug cake recipe EVER..... 2 tbsp nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew - whatever you have) 1 tbsp + 1 tsp granulated sweetener 1 egg Whisk it up well Microwave for 1 min 30 Boom!
  • @LauraCoth @nvmomketo Thank you both so much for your advise! I had bloods taken this morning so will hopefully have results in a day or 2, although I will no doubt have to chase them!! It was hard enough getting diagnosed in the first instance, I was so exhausted all the time, my hair was falling out, I was constantly…
  • Thanks for all your answers @LauraCoth - I've not been diagnosed with hashimotos so no idea what caused my hypo in the first place - I'm on 150mcg of levothyroxine. My last thyroid test was done during pregnancy and I don't know the numbers, was just told it was fine and to stay on current dose. To be honest, my GP is not…
  • If we could live in a bubble we'd be fine - it's just the bombardment of carbs is hard to withstand sometimes - and it is most people's normal - and indeed was my normal for so long, it makes sense why it would be so easy to slip back into bad habits!! 130lbs is an amazing achievement by the way!! Well done you!!

  • Totally - I imagine all these little creatures in my brain waking up and going 'ooooh, sugar, we remember you!!! It was just so mindless! I'm my defence I've been extremely frazzled and busy and sleep deprived lately - this week I need to practice more mindfulness! @RalfLott - that is a good way to think about it - I'm…

  • Hello I am feeding my 4 month old and the best advice I can give is 1) water water water - it's really important to make sure you are hydrated 2) fat fat fat - will keep you full and stop the cravings. If you are counting calories, remember to allow an additional 2-500 per day! Congratulations :)
  • I'm sorry that has happened to you. I have been made redundant 3 times in my life. The first time I was only 19 and spent my payment in lieu on a trip to Australia - blew all my money but it was worth it. The second time I came out of a profession I hated and temped - I was placed in a youth advice centre and was given…
  • I am going to treat myself to some expensive lovely bras that hold everything where it *should* be once my weight loss journey is over and I've stopped breastfeeding - I currently rotate 4 nursing bras that are all now way too big!!!
  • What a transformation - well done on getting your health back - you are inspirational!
  • My old fav was Cheetos! Lol But, I would be so hungry when I was cooking dinner that I would be shoving whatever easy to grab snack was in the cabinet into my face as I was cooking! I could never wait til it was done![/quote] Me too!! I used to stuff crisps in my gob as I was cooking and then still eat the full dinner :(
  • Ok so I haven't taken proper before and after and would never normally share pics of me like this but I am being brave! The first one was taken at a family meal a couple of years ago and I remember trying so hard to suck my tummy in!!! I was somewhere around 196lbs. The second one was at a BBQ last weekend. I am still a…
  • In my long and extensive career as a serial dieter I had a portion control plate - half of it was for veg and another quarter for starchy carbs! The last quarter was for protein! Not even a mention of fat!
