  • I get some 85% dark chocolate, nibble it and let it slowly melt in my mouth.
  • Best pizza recipe I've found is the fathead pizza - had it tonight in fact - it's a definite win! I did see one where the crust iscmade from minced chicken (with a few things added) too and will be testing it out at some point as I'm intrigued!
  • @cstehansen - I've dropped about 60lbs overall - (took me a while as I had a baby in the middle of it!) it came off relatively easily right up till this last 10lbs!! Thanks for the advice - based on feeling rather then a number,I'd say I'm probably not quite done yet :/
  • *reading!! Not resign!
  • Thank you - yes those 2 lovelies are mine - a 1 year old and a 3 year old - I am a healthy weight according to my bmi - but only just - literally the very top end. I think I could maintain at goal if I stopped falling off the wagon every few days!! I already use xylitol and stevia - I just reach for chocolate or cake when…
  • I remember doing weightwatcgers and working out which chocolate bars were the lowest in points (crunchies, galaxy ripples) and that I could get a KFC mini fillet burger and small fries for 11 points - so basically eating rubbish, but it's ok as I was within my points - never lost more then a few ooonds and then all back on…
  • I normally weigh on a weds but can't get to the chemist tomorrow to do it (I've banned scales from my house!) so I did it today - 2lbs down!! 4 more to get back to where I was at start of December!!
  • Be brave - not embrace!! :D
  • What an amazing eye-opening read!! I see exactly these kind of crazy conversations on a forum I belong to on faceache so may embrace and drop this article in there!!!
  • I'm in - beginning of December I had reached my lowest weight - 138lbs and was only 7lbs off goal I've been on this journey on and off (with pregnancy and baby in the middle!!) but my heaviest was just below 200lb so I have come a long way to suddenly throw it away! Fast forward to end of December, with Christmas, my…
  • I have been struggling of late but after a very long run of eating well, I find anything seeet like that tastes not only cloying but also a bit chemically and artificial if you know what I mean?!
  • Sorry posted too soon!! Was going to say, maybe an infograph like the one above might help as it's easier then reading lots of sciencey stuff?
  • My goals are to break through this stall (been losing and gaining the same lb for literally months!!!) Start logging consistently again - I stopped as I was feeling it made me obsess about food but now I'm being too complacent Get to bed earlier and hopefully get more sleep of an evening to counteract the early mornings…
  • I had a real dip in appetite when I first started this way of eating - I almost felt like I had felt hungry for so many years that my body was taking itself a break from feeling hungry at all! It did level itself out though and now I have some hungry and some not so hungry days. 700 cake a day is unsustainable long term so…
  • I'm totally with you there - I too didn't realise quite how crap I felt on a day to day basis, until I didn't feel like it anymore!! I often wonder how many people out there just assume they feel 'normal' when they could feel properly normal by eating this way?!
  • Well done you!!
  • I would like to join a challenge as I'm being a bit hit and miss so need some accountability!!! For me I'm having a 'no *kitten* up November'!!
  • I find that my slow cooker (I think called a crock pot in US?) enables me to buy much cheaper cuts of meat - shoulder of lamb much cheaper then leg - pork belly instead of fillet - shin of beef - lamb neck etc.... so I can afford good quality but a cheaper cut. When cooked slowly is so tender. Plus those cuts tend to be…
  • Mini babybel cheeses Pepperami sticks Fulfil bars Superseed 9 bars All are yummy for my tummy and not really all that naughty
  • I spiralise my courgette (zucchini) but I don't cook it - I find the hot sauce is enough to soften it slightly without giving it that slimy texture
  • In answer to the post - I think it is unfortunately human nature to be dismissive of any thinking that goes against our own beliefs - you have to be open minded to seriously look into this woe - once I started reading and learning, it astonished me that despite all this wealth of information being out there, available to…
  • http://www.lowcarbsosimple.com/crunchy-cherry-chocolate-confections/ And this is on my 'to make' list - chocolate cherry!!! Yum!
  • http://lowcarbbetterhealth.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/fat-bombs.html?m=1 This one uses almond butter but you could sub peanut for sure. I highly recommend Pinterest for recipes!!
  • Don't be angry at yourself - logically you cannot gain 4lbs of fat overnight - it's water weight (common after a heavy carb intake) and it will come off - it's interesting to see how much your body protests once you go LCHF and then have a cheat!!
  • I was thinking that too - I would think just eating fat to satiety as you would want to use the stored fat on your body as an energy source?? I would also wonder if there is a need to compensate with more food to get more calories? After the surgery were you given a higher calorie diet to compensate for the malabsorption…
  • I'm not a jiggly wobbly fat fan either (we call it 'the flubbedy bits' in my house) but love the crispy stuff and have been known to butter slices of cheese and eat them! I love meat and despite being re-educated by this woe, it's still hard for me to let go of the 'I should eat my veggies, they are good for me' mentality.…
  • Forgive yourself and keep on going - you are still here which is testament to your will to succeed! You can do this. We all can!
  • I whizz up crumbled blue cheese, double cream and mayo for a blue cheese dressing - it's yum but a bit stinky!
