Water is all I ever drink because I have hiatus hernia as well as pre diabetes, so all the good tasting stuff is out anyway.

Yeah, tooI noticed that the calorie burns are suspiciously high - I'm always hungry so I've been eating too many of those calories back and didn't even lose a whole pound this week. Will have to be more careful now.

I always have a rice cake with peanut butter before bed, otherwise the night is just too long for me. It's hard to sleep when your stomach is grumbling with hunger pangs.

I had undiagnosed celiac disease for 8 years, but my thyroid tests were always good even though I couldn't have been absorbing all my nutrients for I was very ill at times. I've been gluten free for 10 years now and am still on the same thyroid dosage I was from the beginning.

I drink about 2 cups on an empty stomach in the morning, sometimes the second one is hot. What really helps too is a magnesium supplement, only don't take too much or you will be running to the loo too often. And of course as others have already said, drink lots of water.

I had to start a low carb diet for T2 diabetes 3 years ago. Simply by cutting out ALL sweeteners and sweets, eating small portions of beans, meat, cheese, little rice and lots of vegetables I lost 30 lbs. But I was hungry all the time. I would be eating lots of vegetables and fruits with lean meat. Maybe some vitamin/mineral supplements would be a good idea too.

One of my favourites when we eat meatless is stir fried veggies, adding cooked pinto beans at the end, then sprinkle some grated cheese over top. The beans and cheese make complete protein, the carbs in the beans are absorbed slowly.
