Good luck with your weight loss...great way to start a new year! I am 56 too, started at 185, now 180 and planning to lose 25 lbs in total. Counting calories and logging food is working so far for me....sometimes I don't realise how much I've snacked and picked until I write it all down and count the calories 😳

Well done...that's such a great loss! 💪💪💪

Good for you...you've done so well already.

Good luck with your plans...I can really identify with clothes as a motivating factor. Just wanted to wish you luck and I'm sure you will get loads of support on this site.

Go for it Liz...just keep going!

Fantastic weight loss the first time round...and you have proof that you can achieve that goal! Perhaps we can support each other as I'm aiming for 160 pounds as well...started at 184 and now 182 after the first week. I'm also on about 1500 calories a day, but not doing any exercise other than a brisk 20 minute walk to and…

Well, I just turned 54, and it's so helpful to see that losing weight can be so rejuvenating!

Wow! Well done you, and thank you for showing us what a consistent approach can achieve over time. This has really cheered me up this morning

Wise words!

Love your hair now too.

This is really inspiring! I look exactly like your beginning photos, and I want to be where you are now. Thank you for posting!

You look fabulous!

Well done you! I've got 3 stone to lose too, and this is encouraging. One stone at a time...!
-
Stick with it...as you say, one day at a time...

Well done for getting up each day and sticking at it. X

Drink 3 pints of water when you get there...that'll slow you down!

Well done for asking for support. Things look bad now, but in fact you have already started to take control by opening up. Set yourself small goals for the following day...and don't allow yourself to pull back from seeing them through. A daily goal could be to walk for 10 minutes, and you can slowly increase this. Go…

From what experienced people on this site have written, the key is never to give up. So even if you screw up (and I'm a terrible evening snacker), just keep logging everything, keep giving yourself the chance to start again without beating yourself up. You must have had a horrendous year, but keep focused on your goal and…

That sounds encouraging...!

I also need some encouragement to stay on track, well, to get back on track really! I hate exercise classes, and lost 10lbs back in Jan/Feb through logging meals, walking everywhere and dancing like crazy in the kitchen. Now need to lose the next 20, but I see what others are saying about strength and flexibility being…

How about focusing on the physical things that seem easier/ more comfortable to do now? This might boost your confidence. You've done so well, and I bet you are a lot healthier and fitter. Hope you love your new figure soon!

Well done. You must have put in such hard work to achieve this success.

Quorn is my friend...

Don't let a day or 2 throw you off. As long as the trend is to eat fewer cals then it will happen! Slowly does it, but don't ever give up! I'm struggling too, but not allowing myself to carry bad habits or feelings into the next day.

go go go!

You look absolutely gorgeous!
