My surgeon recommended that if you have a strong sweet tooth, GERD, or insulin resistance PCOS then the RnY would probably be best. Otherwise the sleeve is good option with less side effects. I'm going with the RnY because I'd rather have those side effects. I want the accountability. My husband had the sleeve and I see…

I had my final meeting with the dietitian on Wednesday and lost 11 lbs (out of my needed 4) to get approved for surgery. I'm going to keep trying to lose weight as I go forward. Met with the surgeon today and insurance approval was submitted this afternoon. Hopefully it is just a rubber stamping process since their…

I have no doubts this will be good for you. My husband is 1 year 3 months post sleeve and 2.5 weeks ago had his 4 abdominal and 1 groin hernia fixed and the excess skin removed. It is life changing for him.

It was covered entirely by insurance (except the deductable) because of the hernias. The surgeon said he couldn't fix the hernias without removing skin. He basically has an upside down T on his abdomen. All…

The bariatrician I saw also said that gastric bypass was more effective than VGS for people with PCOS. Since one of my main reasons for surgery is to get/have a healthy pregnancy, that is what I'm choosing. I have my second set of appointments next week - 1st with dietitian and 2nd with psychologist. Fingers crossed it…

Where you are in the WLS process? Do you have a surgery date yet? I went to orientation about 2 weeks ago, saw the bariatric doctor yesterday, and the bariatric psychologist today. I see the dietitian on April 16 and also have my follow up with the psychiatrist that day as well. I started tracking all my food today, in…
