From personal experience, more fat less carbs. Keeps me feeling full longer. Also drink lots of water, I keep a gallon with me and drink it if I feel hungry late. If after that I'm still hungry, then I'll get something light to eat if I'm still going to be up for a while

Be careful with the approximating. 84->100g is about 19% increase, so the 101kcal/84g is actually closer to 120 kcal/100g

First off, you have to eat a lot less than your bmr to enter starvation mode, 1200-1000kcal for most men and 1000-800kcal for most women. I agree with everything you said up until this last part. While this works for you, the intuitive eating, for most people trying to loose weight this is bad advice. Years of not eating right, and eating more than they need is not a good start for ie. After loosing weight and keeping it off, sure.
