Beets are yummy. Just beware if you eat lots of them, the end result is going to look pretty alarming in the bathroom. ;)

Steamed broccoli with a squeeze of lemon on it is delicious. :) Cabbage is great to add to soups and stews. Saute mushrooms peppers and onions together until they start to caramelize and enjoy on a steak or with chicken breast. All veggies are delicious. Some just take some time to develop appreciation for.

Food does not make me feel alive. Living makes me feel alive. That said coffee and really good chocolate never disappoint.

An ice bath soak with a little salt or lemon juice does help to keep lettuce crisp and green for longer. This is standard practice in most restaurants. (I used to hand chop 4-6 cases a day) You should be able to get a week out of it by doing that. You may want to soak it again mid week. Lettuce is a plant so it needs water…

I had that issue when I started. I started having a hard boiled egg for a snack between breakfast and lunch and had another snack between lunch and dinner. After a month or so the mid morning snack was no longer needed and now I am having the mid afternoon snack less and less often. There were also times when I just had to…

Since I am doing this to lose weight the reward is the success. I celebrate by smiling and being proud of myself. What other reward do I need? I do buy myself things now and then that I need or just want because I want some little special thing. A hot soak in a nice bubble bath with a book, a decadent treat that fits my…

Lunch always includes a large piece or portion of fruit that is in season and some chocolate or a cookie. Sometimes a portion of some kind of chips or crackers with maybe a bit of cheese. This is beside the main meal which can be soup or some other leftovers from a previous dinner.

LOL I look forward to all of the food. :) Literally I enjoy everything I eat.Tonight it is going to be pork loin, and sauerkraut which is about to go in the crock pot. Will add either pasta or potatoes for a starch. Pizza for dinner last night. I'm single so that also means pizza for lunch for the next couple of days.

You are all different people with different needs. All of you being on the same diet is just absurd. Your husband is being pig headed and insensitive. Maybe you can suggest that getting the advice of a dietician for the family would be a good idea. The expert can explain to your husband why his kids need the carbs in their…

I used to have periods that totally disabled me with the pain for 24 hours. I know people say that exercise can help. For me it never helped. Sometimes I had to take the day off of work because it was so severe I couldn't move. Best if you take the anti inflammatories before the pain gets really bad. 800 mg of ibuprofen…

Its cool that you wanted to support your son. But publically condemning the community and tools that he is using and succeeding with ,isn't very supportive. It is okay that you decided that this way of life isn't for you. If you have something that works well for you why not just do that? Everyone has to find what works…

My usual is General Tso's chicken with fried rice and either a shrimp egg roll or crab rangoons. I also love the egg drop soup which is pretty low cal and one place I like also has a delicious calamari appetizer which isn't bad on calories.

I was a little overwhelmed at first too. What I have learned over the past 9 months of CICO lifestyle. Don't jump into this right away trying to lose as much as possible as fast as possible with the lowest calorie goal allowed. Get used to using the tools. Start with a slow loss/small deficit or even no deficit at all, and…

Girl... you are GORGEOUS! Don't let anybody tell you what you should look like or who you are. You just keep on being you. You worked hard to get the body you have and you should enjoy and be proud of your success. Don't let other people bring you down for not meeting their standards of how a body should look, which quite…

In this case it is good that she is not using a food scale. She is probably eating a lot more than she thinks she is. Since she does not need to lose weight and has an unhealthy view on the subject you don't really want her being accurate in her pursuit of extreme weight loss. So just smile and nod and let it go. Sometimes…

This won't be too helpful in the short term but it will pay off. I find that I can save a lot with having a dedicated freezer. I have a small chest freezer. Over the growing season I will go to local farms and farmers markets where I can buy fresh produce in bulk for much less than it sells in stores. What I don't eat…

Instead of focusing on the 8 pounds you gained try focusing on the fact that you are currently 50 pounds lighter than you were this time last year. So you obviously know how to lose weight. Just keep doing what you know how to do and things will get back in gear. I had a pretty big gain over the holidays as well and felt a…

Yeah I struggle with this every winter. When it gets cold I want to hibernate. I don't want to move much and I have intense cravings for high carb foods. How do I cope? Still working that out. Sometimes I just allow myself to eat at a smaller deficit for a few days. Mostly I am just continuing to eat the things I crave…

A friend's little girl once overheard me say something about my knees being so bad and asked me, "is that when you are so fat/" She totally mortified her parents and the other people in the room who all paused in shock. I relied to her, "No honey I'm fat because I eat too much." That was probably the first time I ever said…

I log breakfast and lunch in the morning when I eat breakfast, after I prepare it. Lunch I take to work is always leftovers from the previous night's dinner. I log dinner while I am cooking it and before I eat.

I logged snow shoveling yesterday as well. And will do so going forward. Cleaning house, doing laundry etc, those are daily chores and step based. (mowing grass is never a part of my routine) My Fitbit will handle them. But shoveling snow uses every muscle in the body and takes a considerable effort and happens at…

Yup. Reality is most of us were not just overeating by a little, but by thousands of calories. I know I used to think I was pretty reasonable about what I ate. When I started to really track all of my food using MFP and a food scale It was a huge eye opener. Adding an activity tracker has only added to that eduction.

OUt of those three I would go with the milk. You get more volume along with the larger amount of protein which should help. However I would probably just eat more calories for dinner and go for a walk or do some house cleaning to get some extra exercise calories.

Enell. Nothing else will do. They specialize in comfortable support for larger chested ladies. Their sizing also runs a bit different so you need to measure and follow the size chart.
-
That is an odd combination for sure. I would rework it into a soup, stir fry or something else. And never batch cook a recipe that you have not tried before, for exactly this reason. What sounds good in theory or on paper is not always so good in reality.

After trying all of the alternatives I decide that I just prefer my coffee the way I prefer my coffee. With two tablespoons of Coffee Mate. So I log what I drink and I limit that to 2-3 cups a day.

I think the best course is to listen to your DR. I don'e know about herbal remedies that can help but I do know that avoiding foods in the nightshade family is helpful. Tomatoes, Potatoes and peppers are all in that family and seem to cause flare ups for some people with RA. My mother in law always suffered if she gave in…

I am on my feet all day taking care of animals and I wear a fitbit. So far today (I worked today) I have 1139 exercise calories at 12941 steps. I have found the fitbit adjustments to be pretty reliable.

Yup. Pretty much always have a jar of PB around. I don't have trigger foods though. The food itself isn't really the problem.
