I've been on a break since January. Regained quite a bit of weight, although my jeans size has not changed at all. No regrets but it is time to get back to work.

I have been on a break since January. Trying to use what I learned from logging but not really tracking. Yes I regained weight. Interestingly the fit of my clothes has not changed though and I've noticed some muscle definition changes and continued changes in body composition. Also noted that I am not so tired all of the…

After going through 3 fitbits in less than two years I decided to give it up and not worth the cost and aggravation. Hoping for a better experience with the Garmin.

It's a lot easier than you think. Once you get used to it it takes very little time. And if you are just going to guess why bother using MFP?

The kind that is in season. Currently Oranges particularly Naval or Cara Cara. When Apples are in season I go to a local orchard and get varieties that I never see in stores. This years top pick was Autumn Crisp similar to Honey crisp but a little more hard and tart. Spring is coming soon and it will be berries,…

I love all of the squashes. Acorn also makes a very nice soup. I cook it in chicken stock with the peel on and puree the whole thing. Add minced onion, a chopped apple, and sage or curry powder with a dash of red pepper flakes. Sometimes add a cup of milk or cream to the mix but usually not.

Because what she is trying to fill; is not her stomach. Only she doesn't know that yet. I have the same problem. There are times when my brain still wants to keep eating eve when I an physically uncomfortable. When I catch myself doing that I have to force myself to stop and try to work out what emotional need I am trying…

I would probably be a little annoyed. However I am also annoyed by noisy children in public places too. I recognise that I can't control other people's behavior and that they have as much right to be there as I have. Whether or not I or anyone else thinks they are ude they are going to continue to be who they are. So I get…

My friends and I are making sushi tonight. It's gonna be awesome. :) There may or may not be Sake. And I am bringing along a bottle of muscadine table wine that I picked up in Tennessee on a summer vacation.

I use public transportation. My insurance company and workplace provide the flu shot for free. Yes of course I get one. For most people there is no good reason not to. Also consider that when everyone who can get the flu shot gets vaccinated that means there will be fewer cases of flu going around to make others, who for…

I have been seeing a massage therapist along with a chiropractor, every two weeks for the past 6 years. I have had both male and female massage therapists. As far as I am concerned it doesn't matter what gender their body is. What matters is if they are good. I prefer a deep massage and in my experience most female…

I added hard boiled eggs, peanut butter and greek yogurt to my regular diet and it got my protein up without being too calorie dense.

Warning: This post involves some serious nudity in, erm, compromising positions. Today we bring you a wonderful slice of art history that’s been making the internet rounds this week. Plucked straight from Japan’s Edo period, dating back to the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, we present “He-gassen (The Fart Battle),” a very…

Menopause isn't your problem. Your Dr says you are in a healthy weight range. Therefore you don't need to lose weight. You are not 25 years old. You are not going to have the body of someone who is. That said it sounds like instead of losing weight what you need to be doing is building muscle. Your friend was significantly…

Almost always the same thing. General Tsos chicken Fried rice Egg roll, crab rangoons or egg drop soup. Sometimes I get Pad Thai or some other dish.

I would trust the actual USDA database over Google.

I take a daily multivitamin formulated for women. Also just started additional D3 because I don't get nearly enough sunlight to make enough on my own, especially over the dark months. I am really hoping it will help me with my SAD. I also take melatonin, which seems to be helping my sleep quality. The way I see it. It…

My breakfast is usually Cheerios, whole milk, coffee, and greek yogurt. I used to hate eating early in the morning too. Since I get up at 5:30 to go to work and can't go until lunch without eating I just made it a habit to eat. On my days off I usually eat later in the morning and sometimes just coffee in the morning and…

After experimenting with all of the alternatives I decided that my coffee was non-negotiable. So I have my coffee exactly the way I like it and I log my favorite creamer. I just drink less of it. Usually just my morning 2 cups and perhaps one at lunch. My hot beverages for the rest of the day come in the form of tea. I…

The first couple of weeks are really hard. You WILL be hungry. You have to accept that you will feel hungry and remind yourself that being hungry ,for you, is not the danger signal that your body thinks it is. You are not going to die from being hungry. It is just uncomfortable. It sucks. But it isn't going to hurt you to…

I don't find that a question to be afraid of. Have I lost weight? Yes. Thank you for noticing. Have a nice day.

Stop drinking excessively. Problem solved. It is no different from how you handle eating out with friends while watching calories.

Who said anything about bras? They do make spanx for men too.

If I want pizza I make room for it. When I have a craving no pizza like substance is going to do the trick. I do think that some of the pizza alternatives are quite tasty. They just aren't pizza.

I don't log my tea but I also don't add anything to it that has calories.
-
Step one. Stop defining people who don't have your idea of perfect bodies and eating habits as slobs.
-
Nobody has ever died of being stared or laughed at. Many people die from issues associated with being overweight and sedentary. Stop caring about what other people think more than you care about your own health and well being.

Eating is not a good solution for boredom. I don't really get bored but if I were to feel bored it would indicate that I need to find something to occupy my brain. Read a book, get one of those cool adult coloring books, watch a movie, got outside and take a walk, go to a park, museum, join a club.... MOVE. Don't eat.

Horseback riding and aikido are my main favorites. I also really enjoy hiking in the state parks, but rarely have time or energy. Most of my exercise comes with my job.
