Try to keep it simple. Eat a little less, move a little more. Really the hardest part about weight loss is having patience.

All of this right here.

:D Probably the 2nd most common post on mfp.

Every day. Log my weight into happy scale. I usually ignore the fluctuations and pay more attention to the downward trend.

So you haven't lost any weight in 3 weeks but you gained 5 lbs? I'm confused. How long have you been at this? What's your calorie goal? Also opening your diary might help us to give better answers.

Just an fyi - there might be some weeks where you will not lose. That's natural, weight loss doesn't always happen in a linear fashion. I would suggest educating yourself on having a realistic, sustainable weight loss plan. Read the stickies in this forum, you don't even have to read the whole thread, most of the relevant…

Motivation is such an individual concept. For me seeing the changes in my body is motivation enough.

What is your goal? Just fat loss? The best workouts are the ones you'll stick with. For some it's a lot of cardio, for others it strength training/weight lifting, for some it's a mix of the 2. It's very individual when it comes to working out. There is no 1 size fits all. You're not gaining muscle in 2 weeks eating at a…

Most likely eating too much. Weight loss is more about how much you're eating. You can still gain weight eating chicken and vegetable especially if you're guesstimating your portion sizes.

SW: 156 CW: 140 GW: 135 maybe. Depends on how I look at that weight. 45 years old, 5'5"

Never heard of it. I did a quick google search and saw that it's a weight loss pill, I'm not interested in it tho. Weight loss drugs scare me, too many side effects.

Lower belly but I think this is the most common hardest area for most people. When it comes to belly fat I think the biggest thing you have to keep in mind is patience. It doesn't happen as fast as we would like. This thread helps keep my head in the game:…

Looking at myself naked in the mirror. Just seeing how my body has changed and how much better my body looks is more than enough motivation for me. I'm just in it for the aesthetics :D

Using my definition of "tone" I would say no, Zumba does not "tone" a body. Maybe you should have used a picture to show what your idea of a "toned" body looks like. edited to add: this is what I think a "toned" body looks like

Take a stress walk instead of eating.
-
What kind of results are you talking about? Weight loss? If so, make sure these meals include a nutritional breakdown and calorie count.
-
That's not going to really help you lose weight especially if you don't have your eating under control. Like others have already pointed out start tracking your intake better.
-
Maybe, maybe not. I'm losing eating 1500-1600 calories a day. Height? Weight? How long have you been at this? Have you lost any weight at all? Opening up your food diary might give you better responses here.

"Body types" are bunk.

I'm 45, I set up MFP to lose .5 lbs a week and I'm right on target.
-
Look up intermittent fasting.
-
Pretty common "problem" with newbies I've noticed. You're probably eating more than 1200 calories especially if you're guesstimating portion sizes.
-
Used a food scale to weigh/measure food/drinks. Added in 20-30 minutes of walking/running.

strong lifts 5x5

I usually have 2 days during my totm where I feel like actual hell. On those days I don't work out, it's not even a big deal to me. By the 3rd day of my cycle I feel good enough to work out again.

She didn't mention working out or lifting weights so.... Yes, you should weigh yourself but do not let the number determine your worth. Once you know if you have actually gained any weight you'll know what you want to do.
