When I started out six years ago I had a partner bail on me. Go, don't quit and make it happen you'll be happier for it  I wouldn't be where it was if I had quit that first week. I still prefer to go to the gym alone now. It's my meditation time :)

Don't always look at the scale. When I went on my weight loss journey for the first time it sucked not losing scale weight. Buy a cheap sewing tape measure and get your waist, hips, biceps, chest, and quads each weeks. This is great way to also see progress :)!! Don't just guess and hope, know!!!

So to all of those curious, I lost all the weight strictly by restricting my calories. No keto, no surgery, or anything crazy like that! Just blood, sweat, and tears! I ate pretty much whatever I wanted but I did weigh and measure ALL my foods I consumed, I still do to this day. I started out training full body, then…

Consistency and determination with a little luck. Also I tracked everything I put in my mouth and trained everyday :open_mouth:

If I had to tell person one thing: take it a day at a time - a meal at a time. If you try to take the whole goal on at once it daunt you.

Come back after you've struggled with an eating disorder and then we can talk about how to "just stop eating".

Anyone here that says stop eating is a goon! It's not that easy... I suffer/have suffered. I find the best way is to set long term goals and short term goals for myself works best. Send me a private message and I'll send you my email address if you need more support

I changed my caloric intake on a monthly basis depending on my weight. I'd take my weight x 13.5 and subtract 1,000 for weight loss. So if I weighed 400 I would: 400x13.5-1,000=4,400. I would also eat back whatever I exercised. So, if I lifted weights for an hour in the gym I'd add on 400 or so calories. I lost about 2lbs…

I've always done 5x5 and/or trips while I've been cutting. Have had great success with it. You won't gain strength but it will help you maintain your strength better throughout the cut

First month I lost just shy of 18, I also weighed 400 and most of that loss was water weight

Haha!! Thanks :)

Do sumo, my deads lagged for a long time, I switched about a year ago to sumo now I'm in the 600 club. I have t gone back to conventional. Also I'm assuming you do sumo because of your build. If you have hip flexibility issues roll out your adductors with a pvc pipe before you lift, does wonders for me.
