I started the c25k program but ended up just upping my distance on my own. Ran my first 5k race last Saturday.....If i, as a 41 year old woman with crappy ankles can do it, you can do it!

When I was doing the c25k program, I was typically doing M, W, F and then take long walks or hikes on the other days. It all depends on how you feel after you finish. Good luck!

Lol! I need all the supporters I can get! This thread was a big part of how I was able to push through and get 'er done. I have already been scoping out local races in my area. Rest assured, you folks will be the first to know!!

It absolutely IS the best feeling! I had a fantastic day yesterday...even after the race. I was just so happy and amazed at myself.

Yeah, I started out walking really fast and then when I wasn't really winded doing that, I'd jog for a few tenths of a mile and then walk for a few tenths. I'd slowly increase the amount of tenths I was doing until before I knew it, a mile had gone by. Did that for a few weeks on the rail trail near my house which is a…

I've never run on pavement before for my runs. I'm a little scared about that. The trail I run on is dirt and pine needles. Hoping my ankles hold out! Thanks everyone for the support. I'm trying really hard not to psych myself out. I'm also used to running while listening to music but the race website says no headphones.…

Down 21 pounds and am finally feeling my clothes fitting looser. I decided that when I hit a total of 30 pounds gone I'll treat myself to new workout/running clothes. B)

I'm 5'3" and started at 209 on Easter as well...now I'm at 194.8 and feeling so much better. Hoping for 135-140 too!
