I'll chime in with the absolute best cardio machine for a home gym - the Tony Little Gazelle. They're $130 new but you can always find one on Craigslist or wherever for $30. No motors, no computers - just a drop dead simple full body workout. Home elliptical machines are garbage and getting to the gym is hard.

Eat all the fruit you want. Yes, it has sugar, but it's mostly complex sugar along with fiber which is great for satiety. It's not very calorically dense either, so it will fill you up without making a huge dent in your calorie quota. Only fruits I'd be careful with are oranges and bananas.

Bodies are very good at holding on to weight. They can adjust their metabolic rate to compensate for caloric deficits. CICO does not account for this. Below a certain caloric intake, your body has no choice but to burn fat and muscle for energy, but there's a lot of leeway.

I binge on a gigantic salad with a little low fat dressing. Or a huge bowl of lightly buttered broccoli. Stuff like that. It's so filling I just can't eat anything afterwards.
