  • I was doing really well (in my opinion). I was doing at least 30 minutes (usually closer to 45 or 60) on the treadmill 5 or 6 days a week. But then life started getting in the way. We got the windows redone in the house which means that we had to move everything (including the treadmill and surrounding items), then just as…
  • Just an idea -- If you weigh your carrots (or any other vegetable) you can get as accurate as you would get with your other PFs and SCs. :) Thanks for the heads up! I usually just scan the barcode and then assume it is right.
  • Miranda - I didn't realize you had been doing so many races. That. Is. Awesome! Kudos to you! Willow - I hope that you enjoyed your day off! Carin - Eh, the chores can afford to slip by. That's my opinion anyways. haha Roger - I think it depends on the 'intensity' of your walk/exercise. Most fitness people will say that…
  • Hello Everyone, Congrats on upping your distance Roger! We seem to have a bit of a tropical storm headed our way at the moment. The center is going to hit south of here but that means that we get the "Dirty Side" of the storm. Originally they anticipated it hitting around 5 this morning, but that has been pushed back a…
  • Happy (possibly belated) Birthday, Willow!
  • Willow - I am not much into the Caramel Macchiato flavor but if it was the Toasted Vanilla Coconut, Strawberry Cheesecake and the Banana Cream I would be ALL about it. haha. Congrats regarding the sweatshirt! Roger - I feel you on the hot and sticky. Ick.
  • Willow - I know that at Sam's the flavors in the Light and Fit package are Strawberry and Blueberry. I would assume that Costco would be either the same or similar flavors -- 'traditional' yogurt flavors, but I am not certain. I am curios as well and depending on the answer might make a stop at Costco in the near future.…
  • I assume it works the same way. When I got the first shipping email it said it was for the SS food and I'd get another email when the frozen shipped. So I was just wondering how "accurate" that was. Haha. I figured it would ship so that the weekend didn't interfere so I'm not too worried about it (yet) but just thought I'd…
  • Question for people who get frozen food: I got a sampler of frozen with my AD -- My BBB shipped last week (out of Reno NV, as opposed to all my previous orders that came out of Pennsylvania) and it came today. But I haven't gotten anything regarding my frozen stuff yet. Anyone care to fill me in on how this works? When I…
  • I am quite proud of myself for this weekend. On Friday, I went to my cousin's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. On the way there, we stopped at Panera and I got one of the Strawberry poppyseed and Chicken salads (PF+SC+LE) and ate a lunch bar. I avoided all of the cake and punch at the reception afterwards and ate a SC and my…
  • I'm still here Carin!
  • I second Jen's comments! Are you truly hungry when you cheat or are you just craving? If you're truly hungry snack on some veggies. I've told myself many times, "if you're not hungry for carrots you aren't really hungry." If you're craving you can try to do something to take your mind off of it. If it's after I've eaten…
  • Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend (and continue to have a good one, Willow). We avoided most of the weekend rain in my part of the city which was good and FINALLY we have a extended forecast that DOESN'T predict rain! I read an article that was written on May 27, that said that in the last 30 days the…
  • Miranda - We finally hit 90 yesterday and it was just as hot as I remember. haha. I feel your pain. Roger - That's how my neighborhood is. Although if the 'right' creek floods it cuts us off from being able to leave at all. It's not the whole town (I live in a fairly large suburb) but just the neighborhood I live in.…
  • I tried again and it did let me add it to my Auto Delivery -- No phone call needed. I did try to add two smoothie sampler packs to see if they were buy one get one free and they are not. You also can't buy 2 get 2 free. So, I just added two of them and then it lists one of them as free. So... yeah. To those of you who…
  • And here I was going to say something along the lines of "you can eat all of your food fast/quickly if you want," NS doesn't have any limitations as to the speed at which can you eat... ;)
  • I did see that email. And I looked into it and I might order some. But I am not entirely sure.... From what I've noticed - you can only buy one get one free. It doesn't allow you to buy two and get TWO free. They only give you ONE at the free price. And it is only off of the single packages (of 7), not the larger packs of…
  • Quest Peanut butter is ranking pretty high for me at the moment
  • I just checked and the powder appears to be 39.99 on their website and also on netrition. Vitamin Shoppe shows it as 38.99. So if you have one of those near you, you can save a dollar. Or they also say free shipping on orders over $35. Netrition has a flat shipping rate of like $5 and so does Quest.

  • You can buy it on their website (questnutrition.com) or on netrition.com or I'd assume most vitamin stores. I bought it at vitamin shoppe for cheaper than either of those websites though. It might have been on sale at the time... Those stores almost always have something on sale and no shipping! Haha

  • I used to use the NS protein shakes every day and found that they work better with REALLY cold water. I'd mix it up at work and didn't have access to a blender so using ice was a no go. So I would take some water and put it in the freezer for a bit to get it really cold and then mix it up. I'd also take the vanilla or…

  • I eat it off of my fingers, a spoon, the inside of the container that I mix it in..... No but really -- I generally use it as a mid morning PF with some carrots. I use 4tbsps (90 cal - 9 or 10 g of protein) and mix it with a little more water than is called for to make it a bit thinner and then dip carrots into it. It…

  • Roger - You are correct in assuming that we are no longer facing drought conditions. haha. I think we actually were out of drought in this area around Sept of last year if I'm not mistaken. But according to the news yesterday, we are almost 11" above average for rainfall so far this year. And that was before this mornings…
  • If you are curious.... This is a traffic map from 6am. The blue roadways don't mean that the road was entirely impassable but that there was water covering at least part of the road (ie: single lanes or on the service road next to the freeway): pic.twitter.com/VmhNTPYa1J And these next few are pictures taken of Brays Bayou…
  • Hello Friends! If you've seen anything on the news about Houston you know how crazy it has been last night and this morning. Luckily, I am to the north of Houston and while we had a lot of rain and loads of lighting and thunder we don't have quite the flooding issues that they have closer to downtown. Some of the pictures…
  • Correct. Per dietary services it counts as a vegetable. I assume it has something to do with the fact that you eat the 'cob' part of it. Similar to how snap peas count as a veggie while traditional peas count as a SC. The outside 'casing' on the peas and the center 'cob' on the corn must add enough fiber to help make it a…
  • What would you like a review of? A lot of us have been around long enough to have sampled most if not all of the foods by now and would gladly give you our opinion on certain foods. :)

  • I agree about their food not being worth waiting in police directed traffic for. haha. Even pre-NS, I rarely ate food from there. The best thing about Sonic is the drinks (with the endless flavor combinations), slushees and ice cream. Luckily the drinks can be calorie free or low calorie thanks to Diet Soda and some sugar…
  • I did something similar when I had this (for the second time) the other night. I used a whole steamer bag of "Asian Inspired" veggies to go along with it. It was a mixture of carrots, baby corn (counts as a veggie), broccoli and snap peas, with a small amount of some type of Asian seasoning. It went very well together and…
  • Last night, a friend of mine wanted to go to Sonic (a drive in fast food place for the parts of the country that are not blessed with Sonics haha) to get a milkshake. During the summer they have half price shakes after 8pm. Well.... rather than getting a peanut butter shake which is SUPER tasty, I got a Diet Sprite with…
