  • Thanks Terri. I know that. But it's just the doing it every day that's the problem. I've been on mfp for a year and have lost over 50 lbs. I'm really proud of myself for that! But.... I'll be perfect for like 5 days, then not so much for a couple. I'm not gaining (which is a plus) but I'm not losing either. I know what…

  • I'm 47. 5"5". Started MFP 3/1/15 at 245 lbs. I also was on 2 BP meds, started getting bad lab reports. And like you- realized I need to do something about it. I started by walking also. Doing 1 mile was about all I could do. Now almost 1 year later, I'm down over 50 lbs and walking 4-5miles 3-4/week. And if I don't get out…

Weekly Check In: 1/13: 196.5 lbs 1/21: 195 lbs 1/28: 195 lbs 2/4: 193.5 lbs Stuck to my plan of getting more exercise in this week and it's paying off. Had a couple bad food days this week, but it's a loss so I'll take it. On Sunday, I'm going to and…
  • Congrats! be patient tho. I've been on MFP since 3/1/15 (down 53 lbs). I have noticed that I will go a couple weeks without losing on the scale and then boom- another pound or two. I love looking back at the graph for weight loss when I get frustrated because even tho I haven't lost anything in a couple of weeks, when I…
  • That's so exciting and what a great motivator!!!!! Good luck reaching your goal! We'll all be pulling for you!
  • Good luck with your surgery Izzy!!!! Weekly Check In: 1/13- 196.5 lbs 1/21- 195 lbs 1/28- 195 lbs I was actually at 194 yesterday, but my son started a job delivering pizzas. Last night was his first shift, so I HAD to order pizza so I could give him a nice tip! LOL Yes- ate too much, but you moms know how it is... Im sure…
  • It's funny- when I'm out walking to "get exercise" people cheer me on, but when I tell someone I walked to the bank (1.5 miles) or to get my haircut (almost 2 miles). They tell me I'm weird. Why not combine the exercise with something I need to do? It's amazing how many places I walk to now that I used to drive to!
  • Weekly Check In: 1/13- 196.5 lbs 1/21- 195 lbs YEAH!!!! Glad to see some progress. I've been stuck for a while now. Plan for the week is to continue eating to calorie goal. And walking 4-5 miles a few times. We have a big snowstorm coming this weekend, so I'll get lots of exercise shoveling!!!
  • Congratulations on taking the first step! MFP is a great tool for you to use. Agree with all the others that small steps are the way to go. I had about 75-100 lbs to lose. I was terribly out of shape. I started logging calories and walking. I could only walk about a mile before getting tired. Did that a couple times/week…
  • You need to just reboot. The past 3 days are done and gone. You cannot change them. Stop beating yourself up. Start fresh tomorrow. You may not lose this week because of it, but you can lose next week if you start over. I have gone thru this many times- given up because I messed up. Not every day is going to be perfect!…

  • Izzy- this is perfect! For so long, I've said "I can't eat..." and I always fell off track. Now, since March I've been saying "I don't eat..." and it actually works! 50 lbs down to prove it! Occasionally I say "I will eat..." and that's kept me in it for the long haul. Thanks for all the inspiration!!!! Good luck to…

  • Thank you guys. My husband's brother passed away very unexpectedly. I am resolved to make good choices when I can, but I know that won't always happen. Day by day, right?

  • today my motivation is: I have the satisfaction that I've made good decisions all week and I want to keep that up thru the weekend.
  • Every day is a new chance to get it right! Take it one day at a time. Not sure how much you are looking to lose, but for me, breaking it down into smaller goals worked. (Down 50 lbs since March. 25-30 lbs to go.) Just know that everyday wont be perfect, but if you stumble, do better the next day-don't let it derail you.…
  • Hi all! Just found this thread this morning- It's GREAT! Congrats on all the successes! Today my motivation is this picture. Im making 100 copies and putting it on my fridge and every cabinet in my kitchen!!! And on my desk at work and anywhere else I can think of! LOL I'm down exactly 50 lbs since March 1st thanks to MFP.…

  • This time last year I was dreading the holidays- all the parties, running into people I hadn't seen, finding something to wear the wouldn't look "too" bad. All the FOOD! Also I was planning my 25th anniversary trip to Mexico- dreading wearing a bathing suit and squeezing onto the plane. Started MFP in March and am now down…
  • Im SOOOOO happy for you Izzy! I know what a great feeling that is! Be proud of yourself! And keep it up!!!!

First I hurt my back and then as soon as that got better, I got a nasty chest cold. I haven't been able/up to exercising, so I've been focusing on…
  • Weekly Check In: 10/6- 198 lbs 10/13- 197.5 lbs 10/20- 197 lbs 10/28- 198 lbs Ugh! A step in the wrong direction! If I'm honest with myself, I haven't made the best choices this past week. I've been ALL about salty munchies. And it doesn't help that I've just stopped taking my water pill since my BP was so improved.…
  • Thing I did to lose weight today: hurt my back pretty bad yesterday so no exercising today for me. But instead of ordering something out for dinner (since I really didn't feel like cooking) - I cooked anyway- paleo meatloaf with vegetable medley for a side.
