I use the six star whey isolate in rich chocolate from Wal-Mart because honestly, I'm broke. It is $20 a container I think...? That is all we can afford right now. I used to use a lean protein for women from GNC when I was in the Navy, but it was super spendy for a little bag. I don't think the six star is too bad and I'm…

Thank you Lavender. I honestly think it is just from the drastic change I've made in my activity level since I started. I haven't been super consistent logging in because I am very busy, but logging makes me very thoughtful about what I am putting in my mouth. I have good days and bad days like anybody else and I am very…

See, this is why I asked this question. I would have never thought of having Rotel with a canned meat but that sounds yummy! Thank you for all of the suggestions!

Thank you to everyone else for the great ideas. I really appreciate the help from those following the same plan. I think I have what I need to switch and see how it goes! [Edited by MFP Mods]

Thank you all for the ideas. Looks like I just need to buy some fresh veggies and watermelon sounds delicious as well.

I think it is too low, I don't know for sure that it is because I have yet to try it. Which is why I was asking for some ideas on foods from people that follow that calorie intake. I am not losing weight like I would. I have lost 9 pounds in 4 or 5 weeks and even that fluctuates so much that I am not positive I have even…

Cucumbers, broccoli or cauliflower. I make black bean hummus at home and LOVE it with the veggies I mentioned.

Chicken breast will do the trick then? I use a lot of ground turkey in my cooking. I also supplement with a protein powder after my runs. Thanks for the comments.

I am no expert, but I'd like to share my own experience. I was doing the C25k as well and am running anywhere from 2.5 to 3 miles 3-4 times per week right now. I always have a protein powder with 1% milk 30 minutes after my run and it really keeps me from getting sore the next day! I really think it helps my body recover…

It is annoying I agree, but they are likely struggling just as much as the rest of us. This kind of behavior is usually due to a body dysmorphic disorder so be understanding.

You can use zucchini to make the crust. Plan on doing this when our garden is ready for the picking... http://www.myhumblekitchen.com/2013/09/best-zucchini-recipe-ever-zucchini-crust-pizza/#sthash.uZeYVy8A.dpbs

I second making your own dressings and bbq sauces. You can even make your own ketchup and they are all so much better! I still use butter [probably more than I should] but you can get the flavor of butter by using 1/4 of the butter and substitute olive oil or coconut oil for the rest. Fresh and dried herbs are most…

Congratulations! That is amazing news. I can't imagine how wonderful that must feel to get a new lease on life. My dad was recently diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer and it is just awful. It is a struggle to wake up everyday, even though you know you have to fight for your life. That is what I get from him anyway.…

YUM! Balsamic dip sounds really good too! I know. I have like 1300 calories left today so might get to pig out on a popcorn snack tonight.

Chicken veggie soup with kale, turnips, mushrooms, carrots, and fresh herbs in a homemade bone broth "Turkey balls" for lack of a better name. Just little turkey meatloafs full of veggies and homemade ketchup Black beans with cucumber cilantro salad and a drizzle (okay maybe more) of sriracha yogurt sauce And for dessert -…

It's not a sprinkle or powder, but I always DIP my popcorn in Frank's Red Hot. I'm kind of a hot sauce junkie though.

Do you eat eggs and bread? I just made a duck egg salad substituting some mayo with fat free yogurt and it was like 277 calories per half cup serving plus the calories of the bread. Add some cucumbers or other veggies and you'd be set and full! Let me know if you want the recipe. Mine was made with duck eggs, but chicken…

Awesome post. Thanks! Denial was a big one for me for a while! I like this => "Today, I am the fattest I will ever be" Great tips and inspiring photos!

Hello! Thanks for your service and congrats on your weight loss. I am from New York, but live in Southwest Idaho. I was in the Navy for 8 years and now I am going to be starting my last year of college in the Fall working toward a Bachelors of Science in Radiologic Sciences. I don't currently work other than a teaching…

I'm a little confused by this as well! I feel like I'm defeating the purpose if I eat back the calories I burned off. But I am new to this. I looked it up and read that you don't need to eat the calories back if you aren't trying to gain, but I think the calories that MFP gives us are our minimum for proper body function?…

Yum, great ideas! Thank you all. I have a bunch of duck eggs I don't know what to do with - hard-boiled egg salad on some toast sounds pretty yummy!

Hey Johnny! I am doing the program right now as well. I think I am on week 5. I have always been a runner off and on, but it has never been easy for me. Even with the C25K, every day is different. A lot of good suggestions here - get good shoes [this makes an unbelievable difference], stretch both before and after your…

I noticed you typically eat a lot of fruit during the day - an apple, fruit for a snack, applesauce. I don't eat a ton of fruit so when I do, I notice that it ALWAYS makes me feel hungrier! Whenever I eat an apple, I feel like I need to eat something else right afterwards. Therefore, I do not eat apples. I would maybe try…

I love chopped cabbage salads! I usually do green and red cabbage with kale, carrots. Add some cheese cubes, cucumber, and green onion too. Yum. Add some cilantro when into the food processor with the cabbage and kale if you are going to do a spicy dressing. A good idea if you want to switch up flavors is to check the…

Hi Adam! My goal is 50 pounds and I have struggled off and on like you. I was down to 167 and then gained it all back up to 191 again. I was 212 at my highest at the end of my pregnancy. It is very frustrating. Nice blog you have. I can definitely relate to the whole not seeing a change thing. Not having visible results…

I'm no expert, but I would say cut the coffee with sugar and the trail mix. Trail mix really isn't that good for you especially of it is full of peanuts and chocolate which are fatty. 1120 calories a day in trail mix seems a little excessive.

Insanity is fun! I did it at nearly 200 lbs after having my baby. I dropped a few inches, but gained it back. Great program though and I wouldn't be scared to try it if you are interested! No advice other than that. I've turned down beer two days in a row and feeling pretty good about that! Haha. It is difficult but I…

What are you currently doing? Activity? Food intake? With 4 kids, I'm sure you don't have a ton of time to work out, but you can definitely lose the weight. On the same journey. I'm originally from Jamestown, NY.

Hi Donna I am in a similar situation ad just joined for some motivation and support as well. I am very overweight with depression and anxiety as well. The anxiety runs my life. Have tried pills, therapy, everything but honestly the only thing that seems to help is an honest try at a good exercise!! I always wear…
