People who jump queues. The hottest flames of hell are too good for such swines.

Toast spread with a thick layer of Marmite, topped with baked beans and strong cheddar, is one of the finest comfort foods going.

Builders, as the good lord intended. Balm for the soul.

Either cheese or bacon.

Stir fry with noodles. Steak or salmon fillet with scrambled eggs and spinach. Beans on toast with cheese. All quick and easy.

Liver, especially calves liver, and sweetbreads. I bloody love breaded sweetbreads. Also love Brussels sprouts. Coleslaw and mayonnaise are of the devil, though.

Went home for a long weekend which meant BBQ, wonderful meals out with family and a vast amount of excellent wine. Apparently put on 7lb. Three days of 3l of water a day plus back to my normal routine and all but half a lb disappeared. Salt, dehydration and more fine booze than usual created the effect.

Heroin. Speed. Or failing that, perhaps just some regular exercise and CICO.

Gail's bakery potato and rosemary sourdough is a thing of wonder but oh my days, Lidl's cheese bread, lightly toasted with butter. I am actively considering founding a religion based upon worshipping it.

Twiglets. Cheese. Sweet potato wedges.

Sauté in butter, add lemon and a pinch flaked salt. Or sauté in olive oil then pulp in a pestle and mortar with feta, basil and sun dried tomatoes for a fab pasta sauce/bruschetta topping.

Nothing worse than going for a nice English breakfast and finding baked beans slopped everywhere, then having to make a holding pen for the beans from the sausages. Baked beans have no business being there in the first place.

Potatoes, raclette and bacon is a heavenly combination.
-
Roast potatoes cooked in goose fat. I could eat those by the lorryload.

I cherish IMDB for when I'm watching telly and vaguely recognise an actor from something I watched 20 years ago. Relying on my increasingly hazy memory would be so much more painful.

In the fridge at the moment... Feta, brie, mature cheddar, Stinking Bishop, pecorino romano, parmesan, goats cheese with honey. Gorgonzola finished tonight in pasta with pear and walnuts. A bit of cheese, bread/crackers, grapes/apple/pear, walnuts and a small glass of wine is the best supper, especially when it's hot and I…

Fish and chips with a cup of tea to start. Pizza, then crackers and the finest cheeses money can buy, washed down with a barrel of Amarone.

Builders. Twinings green tea with mint is pleasant enough every now and again, though.
