I have used this as a general target for some time using MFP app. Over the past couple of weeks, I've found that I'm eating smaller meals during the day and then typically have something large for dinner. But in all truth, my appetite has reduced massively so I felt like it was counter-productive to eat when I wasn't…

Again, thanks for the positive advice. Nice to feel like I'm not the exception to the rule. I typically target somewhere in the region of 1350-1500 calories a day and without being specific about it, I was a couple of hundred under yesterday. The beer bloating has quickly gone down and I'll jump on the scales Friday, which…

Cheers for all the positive words. I do find it immensely difficult. I sometimes see my wife tutting about me logging all my food there and then. (I've got a terrible memory and I always like to scan as I go to avoid missing things). I think the trick seems to be that I stay focused on my overall goal and try not to…

Fizzy mineral water can be great initially to help feel full, whilst reducing food intake. Also expect all changes to take time. It's got to be a change in how you think about food long term. Oh and if you can avoid alcohol. I've been dry for 6 months and think it massively helped me.

Cheers for the advice. Will check out Stronglifts and see how I get on. Thanks all!

Cheers guys. This morning from nowhere I'd dropped down weight wise. I'm going to meet s trainer at my gym today and get some advice on what I can do to help continue the loss whilst preventing excessive muscle loss. Thanks for the advice.

Yes I'm in Derby UK. Four months in about 3 stone down.

I have some kettle bells from years ago. Would that work?

I'm not doing any resistance training at the minute. Bar abb crunches and sit-ups, which I then double up with an EMS abb belt and walking 5 miles a day that's it. I had thought about doing some gentle weights or potentially hitting the gym.

Cheers, for the comments. I guess I knew the reality would be that at some point it would slow down. I think when I was at my heaviest I was consuming about 3850 calories a day to maintain my weight, so I have reduced it very gradually in stages. Perhaps some additional light exercise might just help. I leave for Singapore…

I just wanted to give you a shout out. I was in a similar situation as you and just kept thinking tomorrow would come and I might think differently. Mindset is really important but here's some things I felt helped me. Get yourself a fitness tracker of some sort. I use a Fitbit but there's lots of different ones. This…
