  • I lost weight just fine before I got a Fit Bit, although I did kick up my weight loss when I got my very first pedometer last year. Now I have the Fit Bit Charge HR and I love it. It's a great motivational tool to increase the intensity of my walking. It was an eye opener on how little effort I was putting in. I've even…
  • I eat breakfast foods. For the past 3 weeks my go to breakfast has been Cheerios with almond milk, a banana bread English muffin (pure deliciousness!) with butter and sometimes yogurt. I can't eat eggs early in the morning shortly after waking up. They just aren't appealing and I have to force them down.
  • I've never had Fage as I don't like plain yogurt. I buy Dannon Oikos Triple Zero. Someone above mentioned the nutritional content, but I also like that it has 6g of fiber. I buy it in the tub at Walmart which is about $4.50 or so. That usually lasts me about 5 days eating 150g each time. Some days I'll eat it twice a day.
  • If you like hot or spicy foods, I really enjoy Wasabi Peas. They have a bit of a crunch. They're about 140 calories but they are low in sodium and it definitely takes me longer to eat them than a serving of chips. Although these days I'm also loving sweet potato tortilla chips. The Special K cracker chips are also…
  • That sounds about right for me, but I'm also active. It gave me 1932 and I can lose weight on 2000 calories (gross, not net). I'm 5'6 161 lbs, 31 years old.
  • Eat more calorie dense foods to get your calories higher. I'm 5'6" 161 lbs and I eat around 2000 calories a day with my net being around 1600. I would be tired all day long if I ate that little. You should think of a sustainable long term plan. Chances are you didn't become overweight by eating so few calories. You need to…
  • Never say never. It was for me. I was "eating" 1800 calories and wasn't losing weight. I started eating back my exercise calories in addition to what I already ate and the weight started moving downward again. Theoretically I shouldn't have lost weight eating 200 more calories but I did. I find that if my deficit is too…
  • I fit sweets into my calorie goal whether it be a Special K Brownie or Fiber One Oatmeal Raisin cookie. To some people it's junk food, but I don't care. It helps keep me sane and not feeling like I'm on a "diet". All food in moderation. :)
  • Why would someone want to overestimate how many calories they're consuming when they could make sure their calories are accurate and be able to eat more food? I wouldn't want to short change myself when it comes to food. If it works for you, that's awesome. I prefer to weigh my food because it really takes the guesswork…
  • I use unsweetened almond milk. I started out using the vanilla almond milk and then I transitioned to unsweetened. It tasted a little plain at first but now it just tastes like milk to me. I'm so used to drinking almond milk that I haven't looked into other types. I like that it's only 30 calories per cup. I mostly just…
  • I don't wear a sports bra to bed, but I do wear a regular bra. I always have, probably always will. It's just so awkward to not wear a bra except to shower. I just don't like the feeling. I'm also "weird" and sleep fully clothed. I wear my yoga pants or whatever athletic type pants I have, a tank top and a t-shirt.…
  • Last time we went to Texas Roadhouse I literally found myself finding something that I wanted then looking each individual item up on here. It was such a pain because they don't offer nutritional information on their website. I'll have to see if other similar steak houses have their information online. I managed to find…
  • So what happens when you can't lose weight on the little calories you eat now? Are you going to drop your calories even further? I understand that you want to drop the weight, but you didn't put it on over night and it's going to take time to lose it in a safe and sustainable manner. That's just my two cents, though. I…
  • This has also happened with me. I was eating 1700-1800 calories but I was probably netting 1100-1200 with all my exercise and left over calories. I never ate back my exercise calories because I was scared I wouldn't lose weight. My weight was dropping but then stopped out of nowhere. One day I decided to try and eat back…
  • Well, just an example. I was waiting on another person in my apartment complex to come down and get their laundry out of the washer. I was getting a little irritated. I looked down at my HR and it was in fat burn zone (around 98). So it's not at all surprising it's giving you readings like that. I know when I play a…
  • My HR when walking is generally around 110-120, but if I really push myself and pick up the pace I can get a reading of around 130. When I play DDR and I'm on a more difficult song I can push 140-145. I always wear it tighter during exercise, and I wear it one wrist band width above my wrist bone. I've also read that the…
  • I have the Charge HR and I've been losing weight eating back about 90-95% of my adjustment. I leave a few extra calories as a buffer if I'm going to be sedentary later in the evening.
  • My goal weight is 145-150 so I have about 10-15 lbs to go.
  • He actually is pretty supportive otherwise. He generally doesn't complain about my way of eating. Many times he'll give up his video game so I can have the TV to get my exercise in. It might help if we plan a regular date night out every couple weeks that way I'm not surprised when he wants to go out to eat. The responses…
  • I did manage to find something at Olive Garden I could eat that was a decent amount of calories and not loaded with sodium so I offered to go there for lunch since I couldn't for dinner last night. They have a Fettuccine Alfredo mini pasta bowl that is 500 calories and 450mg of sodium. I'm assuming it's half the portion of…
  • It's less about the calories and more so about the sodium. I don't like the way a lot of extra sodium makes me feel. I hate the bloated feeling. I'm not controlling his eating habits if any way. He can still eat whatever he chooses. However, I know that he uses food to comfort himself. If he wants to engorge himself with…
  • I'm losing weight. I'm 31 years old, 5'6" and 162 lbs. I'm also active. I'm on my feet pretty much all day at work. I usually get about 15-17k steps in.
  • He does. He said that he liked how I looked at 185-190 lbs. But on a 5'6" frame that's just not healthy. And I felt so disgusting at that weight. I'm 162 now and I feel pretty good. I'll feel a lot better once I get to my goal weight. Which is 145-150. I think he misses the person that would be down to going to all you can…
  • I honestly just walk. I find exercise videos to be incredibly boring. I put on either music or a TV show and walk in my apartment. For me it's much more enjoyable that way. If it's not enjoyable, I'm going to get burnt out and not do it.
  • When I told him that he should had something in advance, his response was," well I didn't want to go out to eat then, but I do now because I'm really hungry". My response? "That's not my problem" He kept saying that I need to compromise. I told him that I don't have to compromise because this journey is about me,…
  • The biggest issue here is definitely that he didn't ask me in advance. Had he said last night, "Hey, I want to go to dinner tomorrow night", I would had been able to plan accordingly. By the time I had breakfast and lunch I was already at 1400 calories. I usually eat around 2000-2100. Some of the chain restaurants we like,…
  • I have the Fit Bit Charge HR and honestly, it has probably been the best $140 investment I've made in a very long time. I love it for the HR feature. If I'm exercising and not in the zone I want to be, I'll increase the intensity. I've been seeing great results on the scale.
  • I eat most of them back because I have found I don't lose weight if I have too many remaining since I'm active. I generally leave 50 to account for it deducting calories when I settle down for the night. I have a Fit Bit Charge HR and it's been pretty damn accurate for my calorie burn.
  • I just say no and try to find an alternative if possible. One of my coworkers made these delicious looking brownies with salted caramel icing. I wanted one so bad. But I was sure one was in the ballpark of 250-300 calories. And I didn't want to waste that many calories. So during my lunch break I went to the store and…
