  • I’m new to keto (2 weeks) and I aim for 1500 kcal, not more but I do feel it’s more than enough sometimes. I’m logging everything as I need to get used to right macro ratios and it helps me focus too. I used to do just low carb and for now I find keto way more satisfying - I literally have no cravings (for now, fingers…
  • I have that - it's not that I don't want to eat sweets in the evening but if I start eating anything sugary after dinner I just can't stop myself. That's why I'm having the dinner as late as possible - if I feel cravings before (because I'm hungry) I eat something sweet then move onto dinner. After dinner I have large cup…
  • Every day - I don't mind fluctuations - I know they are inevitable but I need to see the scale every day to keep myself motivated.
  • It actually is... my bad... I suck at the conversions.
  • I always use metric system- everything else I need to convert into metric before it makes sense- besides pound which is roughly just over 0.5 kg but then it's not exactly that so for higher numbers I still need to convert - height in anything else than meters or centimetres is weird AF - I just think that an inch is quite…
  • Hormones I think - muscle mass has relatively lower impact as only around 20% of the energy (calories) is used by whole muscle mass. Basically the same percentage as brain on it's own. So I'm guessing hormones are here to blame (or thank for).
  • Also try chewing sugarless gum after 1 serving - it may trick your brain into thinking that you're still eating as you keep chewing:) I don't like water before meal but I will have large cup of camomile tea.
  • If it's really bad I'm trying to postpone sugary treats until just before a meal - it may sound weird but if I eat couple of chocolate squares just before lunch and then move onto lunch I can stop on these 2 squares. I can't stop myself if I have them after or between meals (not directly before). It works for me.
  • Good luck!! Since only you and your doctors know the real situation and you agreed the dates and you've planned weight goal because you need surgery then go for it. Clearly since they wanted to do the surgery now but can't because of your weight it seems to me it's important enough to speed up the weight loss - the money…
  • That! Perhaps try doing bit more exercises? Just to burn bit more?
  • I drink tea until I don't feel hungry anymore - but then I do pee 2-3 X at night. But tea works :)
  • You easily can get infections if your body does not get enough energy (calories). Your immune system needs energy to fight viruses and bacteria. If you're eating very low calories and on top you're exercising a lot the small amounts of energy you're providing is simply not enough to support immune system. I had sort of…
  • Well your weight directly depends on the energy you provide your body with and the amount of energy you burn each day. One of the units measuring this energy is calorie [or kilocalorie kcal (1000 X calorie) - but we just say calories as it's easier]. Firstly you need to calculate how much energy a day you burn - it will be…
  • I had a chicken and prawn pad thai at Wagamama - 800 kcal today at 2pm. As it wasn't planned and I had fairly large breakfast I was left with 150 kcal for the rest of the day. I don't care - it was so worth it!
  • I grew up with metric system- imperial units are really confusing to me - I can use a converter but I'm always confused, eg. I'm 174 centimetres = 5.70866142 feet (5 feet 8½ inches). So what shout I say? I'm 5.7 or 5 and 8½?
  • Legs - I walk a lot and unlike in the past this time they started to look pretty good first.
  • Thank you for this post. I love Diet Coke and like many I find it even tastier than regular one. I needed to reduce the number of cans I had but that's due to the fact that it has high GI which was making me wanting more of the stuff... However it's good to know that I don't need to worry too much about foods that contain…
  • All of the above plus - and I don't know if that's true but apparently you can train your brain to well... accept if not crave food. The point is that you need to eat given food everyday for couple of weeks. Sort of you force your brain to expect this food. It apparently works both ways and I can certainly say that after…
  • Perhaps it would be good to speak to licensed specialist? Set the plan and schedule of what, how much and when you'll be eating? So that you know that you eat what you need and lose weight as well? This might be a good start. You can plan ahead what is good, acceptable and healthy?
  • I agree with all above - it's not good and it may get worse if you don't do something about it. My advice - speak to your GP, try to eliminate alcohol, and perhaps start munching some healthy snacks, like nuts, dried fruits, pumpkin seeds, etc. even a small portion is nutritious. Good luck!
  • I think it's likely healthier than other fats nutritional wise, but calories are calories and you need to account for them. I love it though- smells lovely, I use it for cooking and for occasional eczema episodes.
  • I wish I had a treadmill - well I think I would use the time when the younger one naps or is in preschool - since it's the only time it's possible and leave some of the work for evening. As to walking - I do that a lot (my daughter is 18 months old) - we leave car at home and we walk everywhere- obviously with stroller but…
  • I'm stay at home mum - you're so right about the naps! I do all the chores (or as much as I can) during the nap time - sometimes I squeeze some push ups, sit ups etc. I do run in the evening when my hubby is back from work. He's then looking after our daughter and I go for a run. I hope that helps? :)
  • Congrats!
  • What happens when there's a party or some big event - where you have dinner served, cake, champagne? You just don't eat any of that?
  • ...and it's an ice cream!!! Need to find something like that here.
  • I'm from UK. For me - ITSU dark chocolate rice cakes and Kinder chocolate with cereals bars - these are the chocolate treats I'm having when I crave chocolate. It helps to know that I can have 1 or 2 if I really want and this won't cost me an entire meal :)
  • Well I wanted to say something about being in the same situation but this post just blew me away. Sometimes deep down you know but only the right wording makes you realise and see. Thank you DangerousDUCK. Well that definitely helped me a lot.
  • So how is it going? :)
