  • Yes, my face is usually underwater unless I'm breathing. I did need to work on making sure I look behind/truly to the side rather than up and over during breathing, but I did resolve that I believe.
  • I wear earplugs. I hate that feeling!
  • Front crawl. 20-30min. Today was a 50m pool and I did 15 laps. I’m not fast. I try to breathe every 5th stroke but I am not consistent.
  • Decaf tea with milk, garlic pickles, frozen raspberries.
  • Absolutely this. My mom was 40 when she had me and even when I was born people assumed she was a grandmother. It will also depend on cultural traditions. Some cultures see 40 as grandparent age (source: family friends from the Philippines say this).
  • Overeating, unless it’s a social event, is always emotional for me. I have very high anxiety and will eat to procrastinate or distract myself. Almost compulsively sometimes. I am working to control this & develop healthier outlets like exercise and journaling. When I’m truly depressed junk food was a comfort and a…
  • Also re-starting. Good luck & feel free to add me 🙂
  • Same! I keep thinking things will taste good and they don't and I go for more. D: it's such a weird thing!
  • I love this, thank you. My SO and parents keep telling me I'm busy and I've been taking on a lot, but aside from the last couple weeks I don't really agree (and also those 2 weeks represent a nearly-normal level of work at 27.5h plus school (4h of class plus homework). But for me, it's been a lot. I'm not sure what to ask…
  • The first thing I did was make chili! It worked really well for about a week, and I've absolutely curbed my purchases out. However I'm still overeating on foods in the house that are comforting but not junk (eg toast and peanut butter). I miss yoga. The classes are unfortunately not at a time I can make, and you need to…
  • That's a really great system. I've gone in and out of the habit of knitting. I find because I need to do some counting and pay attention to the stitches, I can't do it mindlessly/while doing other things like other people seem to. It requires my entire focus and I get bored XD Out of curiosity, how do you say affirmations…
  • My dad is a teacher! He doesn’t go to a gym during the week it’s just too much. He does yoga & meditation in the morning before breakfast, and goes to the gym to cycle, take a yoga class and swim on the weekends. In good weather he rides his bike by the water.
  • Okay so what happened is that the recipe said 4-6h in the crock pot, then 30min on high so I set it for 5h and checked at 4:30 and one side had a small burnt crust I did my best to leave behind. My mom thought that because I made it without meat it didn’t need as long to cook 🤷🏻‍♀️ it genuinely tastes fine though even…
  • Nice ideas! Thank you. I work late and need to carry all my food for the day with me (breakfast tea lunch and dinner) so I usually try to have everything frozen and ready to be packed to go. I’m trying to cook and make sandwiches on Sundays so I have the same thing every day for 6 days, then repeat. I don’t have access to…
  • I did fully burn the chili-less chili yesterday 😭 I have very limited freezer space (around 1/8th or 1/16th depending on the day of the week), so canned beans are fine, but I’m definitely trying that in the future. Thank you!
  • I’ve absolutely appreciated all the advice, and made lots of notes. Today I made a crock pot chili - before realizing we were out of chili powder....so a chili-less chili I guess? I’m still looking for more recipes. Next time I’ll do this properly. But I am not so afraid of the crock pot. 🙂 I’ll explain, I meant fast food…
  • Nope. I want to work on being more vegetarian and incorporating more vegan things. Maybe I started too ambitiously? But wow I’ve got so much good advice from most of the replies here thank you so much!!! I’m not on Pinterest and I thought it was mostly for fashion or decor and I’m not into that, I didn’t realize it was for…
  • ^ this. And also in my experience I’d had my iron checked several times and it was technically in the normal range. However when I told my doctor about the hair loss she only then told me it was at the very bottom of the normal range, so only then was it discussed. You need to tell your doctor your symptoms because it’s…
  • Thanks for the tip! It used to be covered but my insurance changed so I have to buy it anyway might as well get something better.
  • I lost a lot of hair when I was losing weight also. Turned out I needed an iron supplement even though it was the “low end of normal” my doctor tried it out and it helped a lot. (It has unfortunate gastrointestinal side effects though so definitely talk to your doctor about this!!)
  • I don’t have IBS as far as I know. I have dealt with constipation for most of my life and didn’t realize it was a problem until it got pretty bad about a year ago. I started taking psyllium which helped and was pretty good. However if I get any more fibre (eat less bread/more beans & quinoa) I can get the runs now. If I…
  • Thought this was going to be a much different thread lol. There are a lot of strange things out there. But there are some great YouTube channels that talk about weight loss and I find them sorta motivating, like ObeseToBeast, ZachAttacksFat, etc.
  • Thank you for all your great encouraging messages!!! ❤️ As it is, I’ve prepped breakfasts, gone for one walk, and I still need to get organized for everything else lol. It’s a slow process especially as @TynaBaby17 says I also have the tendency to drop everything for school. And it’s the end of term! Just another 2 weeks!…
  • I’m wearing my high school coat too! Although it still just squeezed me in at my biggest. I guess it doesn’t feel like a success because it’s not about the weight I lost, which is good but I’m only about halfway to normal BMI. It’s more realizing how long I’ve been fat/obese. I thought I’d only been obese a few years but…
  • Thank you for sharing!! That's the part that makes me feel so much more confident now and like I could actually "bet" on myself. I knew next to nothing about nutrition or calories. I'm still working on nutrition, but now I at least understand the basic through experience of more protein = less fatigue/headaches in my life,…
  • Ontario 😁
  • <3 dodgy knee club! I dislocated my knee in 2015 and it's never been the same. I'm still working with a physiotherapist because every time we think it's okay it stops being okay. Lol. I get really anxious with exercise because that's how I dislocated it, and tore one of my calf muscles last year. But I need to do more. I'm…
  • I know I haven’t replied yet but I’ve been reading everyone’s responses! Mostly it is just great to read that you’ve managed to work through these things ❤️ I’ve started logging again, and I’m actually under maintenance for 2 days now. This really helped. Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️ I don’t know if I could log how bad…
