  • No I grew up on beans, rice and oatmeal and we weren’t even vegan 😂
  • Hi I’m Cristina! I was vegetarian last year although mostly vegan. This year I am hoping to commit fully. My job as a cardiac nurse has really shown me the impact that a whole foods plant based diet could make in my life. I enjoy running long distance and have done 14 marathons. I’m looking to increase fitness and prevent…
  • I’m a cardiac nurse and what I have seen on the job has really frightened me. Cardiac diseases are the #1 cause of death in the U.S.A. and are rapidly increasing in other countries as well. I often get patients in their twenties and thirties. Medical institutions are recommending low saturated fat diets to all patients-…
  • I love getting new cute workout clothes or shoes. It keeps fitness fresh and exciting. Plus, if you are losing weight, you will need new clothes anyways! I also love going to a new fitness class with a friend. Picnics and long walks/ chats with friends are also a blast.
  • You are gorgeous and I am so excited for you to start this journey! Keep us posted! It will not happen overnight but it will happen if you give it 110% and you will always have friends here to turn to!
  • Love my Fitbit charge HR. It motivates me to stay moving throughout my day and it checks heart rate so it motivates me to take the stairs. It's an everyday all day tracker. My garmin vivo broke :( so I decided to try Fitbit and prefer it now.
  • I love getting concrete confirmation that I am making progress even if I can't see it on the scale. Good nutrition and exercise greatly benefits our internal organs. I love getting my blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and blood fats tested when I go to the doctor/clinic because they improve even if I haven't lost a ton of…
  • My garmin broke so I got a Fitbit charge HR and it has really helped me stay active throughout my entire day. I like Fitbit because it connects to myfitnesspal.
  • I get about 40 grams of fiber a day to stay full/ satisfied and regular. My doctor once told me I had IBS but I haven't had any problems since increasing my vegetable intake. Increase your fiber slowly so you don't feel discomfort.
  • I have the same problem. I try to get to the gym before work because I am always so exhausted after my shift ends. I make my body get up and go before I have time to talk myself out of it and I wear my workout clothes to bed so I can just wake up and go.
  • You will do great!
  • I love eating Brussel sprouts, asparagus, squash, and broccoli because they are fibrous, filling, and low in calories. But man! my farts could kill an elephant! I was at the gym once and had to leave because I could tell others were politely avoiding me. I have since slowed down on my intake of these veggies haha.
  • I don't think I will ever be able to fully give up animal products but I am trying to eat at least 80% plant based foods on a daily basis.
  • Definitely! I was no runner myself but started jogging slow miles then adding distance or speed slowly. Four years later I am running marathons. I'm not great but I can finally complete them. It took months for my joints to adjust and strengthen to be able to handle the distance and I stopped and took days off when I felt…
