I'm in, finally a group with similar goals to mine. 5'9" Currently at 141, lost 4lbs this week GW 139/138 Doesn't sound like much but crossing that 140 barrier is brutal and making weight loss hold is tough.
-
I'm a tall5'9". Everyone swears I'm 6ft. I strategically eat meat for training purposes. Don't favor it but do better with limited intake as I can't eat soy.

Too many carbs in relation to protein makes tired. For example, I crashed after eatting a lunch of a big sweet potato and no protein.
-
Actually it is sweet potato so I'm good.

This app is addicting which really helps. It motivates me to be more active cause it's shows the calorie burn. Choice is clear - eat less or move more. This tracking really helps reinforce that everyday.
-
If that doesn't work I find a super light dinner gets me back on track. You wake up feeling better so it's easier to restart. Just make yourself super busy the night of a light meal.

If you update your weight weekly it updates on your status for your contacts to see.

At your age it will come off all the right places. So many young girls think carrying extra weight for a larger chest is sexy, but, the truth is too heavy is just that. Get to healthy spot, if you maintain a healthy weight your height will be fine. I dieted plenty and it never stunted my growth. And, add exercise to the…

Sometimes I just want to eat as in the act of chewing. So tried the old celery sticks which surprisingly worked well. Depends on the driving force but if it's just eatting I'd give those a try.

I'm seriously considering HRT. Has anyone gone that route and found it helpful with belly fat from the hormonal changes?
-
When I lived at home I didn't eat their meals. I think I existed off of a baked potato for dinner every night. Brought my lunch to work, and had a set breakfast that I made. If I ate their food regularly I would have gained.
-
I didn't like the calorie amount they set so you can go in and change it.
-
MFP overestimates the calorie burn. I only figure the burn in when it comes from garmin and based on heart monitor. So I never eat them back unless it's from a long hard bike ride. The temptation to eat a lot after that is so strong.

Anyone experiencing more injuries or tendonitis since menopause? Not sure if it's a coincidence or connection but this year is terrible and the recovery rests hurt weightloss too.
-
Menopause is killing me figure wise. My arms and shoulders keep getting thinner and weaker and the gut is steadily growing. I exercise regularly and intensely both cardio and strength, so can't do more there. The hormone loss is an undeniable factor. Maybe I will revisit low carb higher fat, but that makes me nervous from…

I haven't but it sounds like new twist on interval training with heart rate zones which is always good for a decent burn.

I think dootzy is on to something. I feel inadequate so looking for a lift plus everything else. I will never compare to my other more favorite sisters and just can't get over it when I'm with them. I try not to fall off the wagon but it still hits post visit. I geuss at least it's a shorter binge if I delay.

Similar situation many years ago while in college. Then I went on to be a triathlete so have aged well, and many others have not. I'm sure you looked great, you are just not his type. Know that things can change in a minute. I am certain everyone has their time, aren't you glad your's isn't in the past.

Eating makes us happy, baking and cooking makes me happy but then the consequences come and it's not worth it. I look for other things to make me happy. Also, it is so hard to take weight off by dieting alone. Please try some type of exercise regularly, even if it's mall walking. Track on this app, makes a huge difference.

I did that with cookie baking after I lost my job. Don't give up even if it's not working today. You will eventually dig yourself out. Try adding walks outside, bicycle anything that will keep you away from food. If you can skip dinner you will wake with more determination than depriving throughout the day.

Work towards running or biking in the sun. The sun helps with depression and the activity helps with withdrawal. Plus you can't smoke while doing it. You will backslide but keep trying. I quit 30 years ago and it was very tough but I finally succeeded. I have seen two people die of smoking related emphasema so terrible. It…

When I catch myself, I state it's not going to make you happy or satisfied and shut the door. But so many times you mindlessly snack. If only I were always that rational.

Be careful using the calorie estimates here. My Garmin shows very different cardio calories burned that the calculations here. Garmin shows I burn less than the defaults here and based on weight loss I would agree.
-
I work really hard at losing. Time has proven that if I am working super hard and not getting results, my thyroid is off. Always something to check if you honestly have been making the calorie goal and exercising and getting no where for more than a few months.
-
I always hit/exceed my Vit C and A percentages, but Iron and Calcium don't add up on here. I have had bone loss and anemia so watch those two. From food sources, if the labels are correct, is challenging to reach.
-
15 lbs is great, congrats on that loss!
-
I am grateful to keep doing the activities I love, even if performance and recovery are t quite same.

My body is changing rapidly now and I'm not ok with it. At 50 I feel too young to start with a poochy stomach and never want back fat and definitely not yet. I so get it, like my body is becoming a stranger. At least I can hold onto my old size I hope

Thank you. I am currently adjusting meds but it takes so long. I have three more weeks to see if it's enough. So far no difference. I too have fought a hard battle so if I could burn it off I would. Before this I had weight management mastered. So frustrating.
